The new Cannabis industry will see a Billion dollar increase for many years to some. Not surprised at all.

The revenue lost to the illegal sale of marijuana in states where it is not now legal will continue to reform this entire landscape. Tax it or give it some other crooks? It is a huge and enticing pay off. diversifying is only logical for this new industry.

Is a brewery owned by big pot still "independent"?

So these are planning to brew their THC and CBD beers in addition to becoming brewers of regular beer?

As long as they're under 6M bbl a year - someone's just got to come up with the figure of many Joints equal 1 Barrel.

Ridiculous. Let's hope they create a one stop shop THC infused pastry stout so lazy folks can get their weed, alcohol, and food cravings satisfied in one beverage.....

Well, The Duke and Zonker from Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury) covered this "story" many years ago. Look at the old Trump/Trudeau strips from the 80s .(I think)..

No. But also, does it matter? Everyone seems to be acquiring everybody these days. The real question is who owns who, and how and why.

So Stone is getting acquired right? Sierra, Anchor and Stone are the only 3 in the top 20. Anchor is not completely "independently" owned and Sierra is far too large to acquire given the amount of $ these guys are working with.

While a lot of the players may be the already wealthy there are certainly independent entropenurs riding the new grass wave. It should remind you or craft beer before Jim Koch was a Billionaire.

That's because LOI's don't mean shit. They're almost always non-binding. Now, if they had signed definitive agreements, that would be a different story. An LOI usually has some high level terms and proposed purchase price contingent on confirmatory diligence that could take a significant amount of time to complete.
