It's weird that the beer prices for Giants and Jets game are different.

I do not regularly attend Eagles games but the last game I attended at the Linc the last thing those people needed was to drink more beer once inside.

It would be interesting if some writer could write an article, with meaningful data, about how much beer is consumed by NFL game attendees prior to entering the stadium. And based upon my anecdotal observations the number 1 brand is Bud Light.

    Cheers!

Considerably so at that. What gives? I realize the Jets stink, but it's not like the Giants have been particularly good in recent years either.

The Jet's pricing definitely confused me initially. Heck, it's hard to find a beer in New York for that price. Then I remembered that they are the Jets. I'm rooting for them this year.

    Captive audience.
Hershey Stadium prices are up there too.
Paid a fortune for beer at the KISS concert.
I don't recall how much they were, but somewhere around the 10 buck mark.

Yeah, that really is ridiculous considering it’s likely the same beer from the Jets game the weekend before:rolling_eyes:

Im gonna go ahead and assume you aren't a fan of music, sports and cinema if you believe this..
    Or blind and/or deaf

There's nothing like watching a good live performance of music or a good ol boxing event.

Just because you're there doesn't mean you have to pay that ridiculous price for what is usually shit beer.
Do what most sensible people do and sneak in a flask or a few 50ml of your favorite hard stuff and save 100+ bucks.

This used to be much easier to do, but nowadays if anyone decides to go this route, your best bet is to use a plastic flask since a lot of (all?) stadiums require you to go through a metal detector before entering.

Hence my 50ml suggestion since 50ml are non metal .
Heres a tip: a freezer bag filled with any liquid of your choice tucked into waistband.

Its clearly not an issue for the people going to games so who cares.
If it bothered them it wouldn't sell.

there is no indication if they used the same beer (i.e. Bud Light or Miller Lite) at each stadium, or some kind of average. If they used an average, it might actually mean there is a higher percentage of "craft"/"crafty" beers at the Linc. I haven't been to an Eagles game in a while, but at Phillies games they usually have a pretty decent beer selection.

Beer prices are just one more reason I avoid professional football.
But to be fair, is there any comparable data for major league baseball beer prices? NBA? NASCAR?

The concession vendors might jack up the prices for football games to try to keep gross sales up, since people probably drink fewer beers inside the game due to tailgating prior. I think most people are less likely to have already drank beers for several hours before a baseball or basketball game.

$14.67 for a beer? Is that like the movie theaters pricing where at least you get free refills?

Bears should give away free beer so you can actually enjoy watching the team.

Not been to an Eagles game but the USWNT played before covid and I got a High Life for around $14, 19.2 or 24 oz. Don’t remember.

Phillies are can only now, no draft. That sucks and it’s expensive. I paid $15 for a 19.2 Space Dust, it was quite fresh but it’s a $3 beer at the beer distributor. Prior to covid it was not much less and you were not getting that much beer in your cup. I remember 2009 a 20 oz Hop Devil was $5.50 at CBP.

Beers at the Union games are not less either.

I look at high beer cost as part of the game. I drink a few before we go in and buy one at the game. I always buy secondary tickets to save $. Last game I sat 7th row a section off third base and we paid $34. Add my beer cost and I still paid less than face for my ticket.

    Enjoy

    Yup

Phillies still allow you to bring in food and sealed drinks, no glass or aluminum. Quite easy to bring in other drinks this way. Hell, wrap two beers in foil and make it look like a hoagie, just bring beer they sell.

    Enjoy

This reminds me of an old story: I attended a Phillies game and I brought in a hoagie and the security person working the gate took the hoagie out of my Wawa bag and squeezed it from one end to the other. I suppose to discern if there were beers in there like you mentioned above. It was quite a sight to see.

    Cheers!

Wow, that Philly price is insane. Is the stadium buying Sierra Nevada beer off store shelves in PA and then selling it at home games?

I assume that this was for the BMC tier of offerings too? They don't specify so I have to assume the worst.

Surprised Gillette is so low on this list. Considering they've tried to monetize the crap out of that land.

I used to be a Jets fan back in the day (I’ve been a Bills fan for the past 10 years or so). To be a dedicated fan to a team like the Jets is a true commitment, which I would assume would require much drinking. Almost as much as needed for a Bills fan after a heartbreaking end to the past years playoff run. So close….
