Related to The Men's Health Low-Calorie Beer Awards, learn "How Dogfish's mad scientist of beer, Sam Calagione, spent two years creating the perfect summer brew." And that brew would be Dogfish Head SeaQuench, the editors' low-cal pick.

Seaquench is a decent summer beer. Really not too far off /subtle differences from Namaste IMO. Both when Fresh are nice summer beers.

Someone at the shop I frequent keeps recommending this beer, but she also can't seem to keep it in stock it flies so fast (Missouri just got Dogfish Head). Now I feel like I really need to make a point to pick it up. Especially as the days warm.

As per this article/post, I picked some up. Very very solid. I want to call this more of an introductory Gose, if that makes sense. I definitely prefer the ABVC G&T Gose/Blood Orange Gose flavor dynamics as there is quite a bit more tartness and saltness there, and not so much here. Price point on all of them is just BAD from a session dynamic. Ie, I can drink 4 IPAs for a lot cheaper than six pr even 8 of these.

Flavor wise, it wants to be sweet but definitely finishes up with a solid tart finish, which keeps you wanting more. I want to say its nothing special in the scheme of things.. @Harrison8 Is all DFH selling out? My area too just got DFH and the hype died within about a month

@Oktoberfiesta I don't work in the industry around here, but the shop owners I've talked to say they are having trouble keeping it in stock. I'd say we're in about month 3 or 4 of DFH being distro'd here. I keep waiting for a Thursday tasting to feature DFH, but they won't since the product is moving so quick. So far, the hype here has seemed to outlast the Ballast Point hype - which came and went quicker than an ocean wave.

I don't think we have nearly as many choices as New Mexico or some other regions, particularly speaking to IPAs. That may play a hand in it as well.

Sea quench sounds interesting. It's been on my list for a while, hopefully I end up in their distro this summer.

New Belgium Shift did it for me. Then they quit brewing it.

...And he did a damn good job. SeaQuench is one of my new favorite goses. I've bought it four or five times since it was released, and plan on buying it many more times.

Well, that is quite the endorsement. I have to add this beer to my "Must Try" list.

    Cheers!
