Dry Dock's Facebook page shows some barrels they claim will be used to make more Blighs. I couldn't be more stoked!
It's in the fermenters, but once it hits the barrels, it'll still be months before it's ready. Wouldn't surprise me if they're shooting for a release around GABF.
I saw 5 bottles at the Wine & Spirits place off Univ. & Orchard today (Where the TJ Maxx and Ross are). 20 bones a pop.
You guys should take a cue from the Chicago crew and start hyping the shit out of this now. Up in Missoula we've already started on hyping Ivan for the December release. The trick to big Rocky Mountain beers is that you have to age them upside down, which ensure just enough headspace for oxygen to work.
I think the best thing about Bligh’s is how good it was on Day #1. It came out of the bottle on release day pretty much flawless. With a lot of the other BA BW’s, they can come out of the bottle pretty hot.
I was told by a dry dock brewer that they planned on making Blighs a yearly release so this is all true and great news!
I don't know about Bligh's but Ivan's going to be 3800 bottles this year. But the only ones that I can verify have been aged properly, that is, upside down, are the ones from me and my friends here in Missoula Montana, and those in the Rockies who happen to read this thread. Point being there might be 3800 bottles out there, but due to the rarified air and particular peculiarities that necessitate aging Rocky Mountain beers upside down, only maybe 3 cases that are fully representative of the beer will be up for trade. tldr: FT Ivan ISO King Henry
