Makes sense. I didn't even think of that angle. And again, I was not thinking Veil did do such a blast as it's not something I would see them do or even them needing to do. Just curious how the buzz on that beer caught so quickly across the country.

Don't know if it was the case with this but RVA area has quite a few AP reporters

I think it's a lot more of this - most of the posts just pulled Instagram quotes without writing much, I guess that made it trend, then "legit" feeds picked it up. It's amusing in a lot of ways. Horneos is better than I expected, Coco Horns was still a much better beer.

It doesn't help that the past 2 weeks haven't been their best TIPAs. I'd rank them as Daddy's Home > We Ded > Boizz to Menn > Fake People (I never got Juicee Boiz). The TIPAs change and hold up really well though so maybe the new ones will change for the better over the next few weeks?

Obviously haven't had this batch yet, but last time I only grabbed 2 We Ded based on having it on draft. I definitely wished I had more when I drank the last one over a month later. We Ded Mon is one you'll be happy to find in the back of the fridge 6 weeks later. I can't say the same for a lot Veil brews.

One interesting thing about all of this is that even with the very well-recieved coconut version, Hornswoggler was a really overlooked beer of theirs. Now you can bet your ass that any adjunct versions they do of it will draw huge crowds.

I am planing a drive thru visit on my way to Wilmington Nc. Will be coming through on saturday. Was wondering are cans still available on Saturday and is there usually a line for them if still available. Same for their can growlers. Any other information will be helpful traveling with my wife and two year old so I need to plan it out

One page back a guy asked basically the same question.

Crowlers are random pre-filled, not a fill on demand basis so unless you see an announcement there will not be any.
Decent chance some cans will still be there on Saturday, as this release doesn't have the hype of some others, but for a more detailed estimate read back several pages to see the history of what's been left on Friday/Saturdays. There will not be a line to speak of if cans are left.

Is there usually a food truck on saturdays when they open

Unless they announce crowlers for Saturday there shouldn't be much or any line for cans when they open. If you're getting there at noon you should be good.

Food Trucks don't always start right at noon. Started at 2PM this past Saturday for instance.

I'm willing to bet a lot of today's cans make it to Saturday, but with the Ruse release I wouldn't be surprised if they're gone Saturday just from runoff of folks in town for Hardywood snagging Veil cans while they can.

If there aren't cans available, you could always just hit the Answer right up the road drop Veil. They'll definitely have some crowlers to go and really good food to keep the wife happy.

    For Today:

    ~Master Shredder-5.5%-our beloved house IPA(approx 78 cases; $14+tax/4-pack; 2x cases per person) 114 Sold
    ~We Ded Mon-11%-100% Citra Triple IPA(approx 82 cases; $17+tax/4-pack; 2x cases per person) 124 Sold
    ~Dreamless-4%-unspiced Witbier(approx 21 cases; $13+tax/4-pack; NO LIMIT) 7 Sold

    245
cases total sold yesterday. That seems high to me for this release but in line with a lot of 2 can release days. Maybe Horneos on tap helped, as well as 2 case limits. Word is this is a great batch of MS.

Veil posted a little after 7pm last night they are SOLD OUT of all cans for the week. I'm skeptical they did actually sell through 89 cases on a Thursday in just 3 hours and would not be surprised if some showed up in distro today and over the weekend.

Where did you see this? You might be confused with their post about Hornswoggler w/Oreos being sold out.

Ah yes! You are in fact correct. I read too fast and skipped over a lot of the content. It WAS only Horneos that sold out. My bad! Looks like you are good for the other stuff @beernuts ! Thanks for catching my mistake so quick @hoppytobehere

oh wow, can't believe I misread that too. I guess I stopped at "all cans" since I thought cans of Oreo Hornswoggler being sold out was old news. Thanks all!

I was there yesterday and they were getting pretty low. Just ahead of the case count coming out it looks like the extra Oreo Horns traffic moved more cases than I'd have thought so if they have cans left today it won't be many I don't think.

Also, this batch of MS is my favorite so far. I usually pass on cans of that one but I bought some this go.

Well crud, I was hoping a couple might escape to tomorrow as I'm planning to be in town for the Ruse release. Ah well, will at least hit Triple Crossing and maybe get a crowler at The Answer

Back to not throwing people off with my lack of reading entire posts. Here is what's left going into today's (FRIDAY) opening. Safe to say none of this will make it through the evening. Maybe a few Dreamless carry over into Saturday....
