What is the thickest/chewiest beer you have ever had?
Black Damnation II or V
Of the ones I have had and remember, off the top of my head, I would say Guinness, KBS, BOMB!, Sweet Baby Jesus
Like stout wise, or just in general? For example, HotD Otto has some nice thick chunks floating in it!
Most of the Prairie offerings would qualify. TenFiddy comes to mind, too!
Uncle Jacob's Stout
SN hoptimum was like hop syrup.
Not my favorite trait lol so I'm sure thicker exsist.
Hermitage Ale of the 2 Tun
It's one of my locals, I had a keg on for a few months. Took a lot of time and effort to get that tap handle clean because it was so crazy sticky and thick. If I didn't drink it for a few days the handle would get locked up.
Sam Adams Triple Bock
Avery Uncle Jacob's Stout
I'd venture it was Mother of All Storms. That it was definitely the sweetest may have had something to do with it.
@yemenmocha gotta agree with the Mikkeller Black Hole - that one was syrupy thick and sweet. Loved it, but it was quite a task to finish.
Otherwise, I'd say Ten FIDY is up there too (as well as quite a number of big Russian Imperial Stouts.. pretty much just name a brewery haha)
Founders Imperial Stout
Mikkeller Blackest. That's the bourbon BA version of black, at a hefty 16.9% I believe. The darkest beer I've ever had. Drank like driveway sealant.... wonderful.
Bell's Expedition Stout was almost like drinking toothpaste, it was so thick. Founders Imperial Stout was thick, but mostly just so cloyingly sweet that it seemed thicker than it actually was.
Quite possibly Angry Chair's fudge bucket...delicious
Ten fidy is really thick.
Bell's Expedition Stout. Had barely any carbonation so it drank like a think soy sauce... a tasty, thick soy sauce.
This is the thinnest beer on the thread
Every single TG stout, CBB MZ, Huna, DB Huna.
Even more jesus is up there....id still say bcbs though.
Just finished a Bomb! That gets my vote. BCBS for sure too.
Without a doubt, Goose Island's The Muddy.
Goose isn't real highly thought of here, but this stout was mind blowing
Dark Lord (especially with some age) and Black Tuesday (at least the first iteration).
Country Boy Sinkhole Stout
Epic Big Bad Baptist
Founders Backwoods Bastard
Samuel Adams Triple Bock by far.
It was like drinking maple syrup.
2010 Dark Lord that I cracked open when the Hawks won the Stanley Cup this year is the answer for me. 5 years is the sweet spot for DL, very drinkable, very good, and you feel good after :-)
nonstout: 120 Minute
Huh. Fair enough. I didn't find it thin.
I had Bomb! A couple months ago and I thought it wasn't as thick.
Ten Fidy, BCBS, Derivation #1
Huna and any CCB stout that's been barrel aged, Assassin, CDOS
Have to agree that Ten Fity is pretty thick
Those homebrews that are bottled near the end of the batch as you're trying to squeeze out every bit of beer into a bottle from the bucket.
