My gateway to sours was Bell's Wild One. If you can trade for it, I highly recommend it. Other "gateway" sours I could recommend are Gueuze Tilquin, 3F Oude Geuze, Capt. Lawrence Golden Delicious, and New Belgium La Folie

Sorry, but CL Golden Delicious is a tripel, not a sour. Lindemans Cuvee Rene and Duchesse de Bourgogne are great entry sours and available in the Tristate area.

New Belgium's La Folie was only the second sour I had tried, and it hooked me on the style.

Those aren't gateway sours for most people. Only la folie. I'd like to add jolly pumpkin anything and rodenbach to the list you should try OP.

Rodenbach Grand Cru is a great intro to sours, and still one I'll drink often. If interested check out the Michael Jackson video on youtube of him drinking this one.

La Folie was a gateway sour for me. But I fell in love with the style(s) thanks to Russian River. Sadly, not available out this way. Ithaca's Excelsior Brut is a fairly mild sour, if you can find it. I'll add to the votes for Rodenbach as well.
