Tip Tap Room - Lambic/Sour Heaven

Well, perhaps not heaven, since the stuff was expensive, but last night we went hog wild as part of a business gathering and got to have: Cantillon (they had four types, but we just had the Kriek and the Classic), DeGarde, RareBarrel, Oxbow, 3F, Allagash as well as some other goodies.

 

The Cantillon bottles (750) were like $60 (it was Kriek and other regular Loons. ie no Fou or Lou). The DeGarde was a little less, I think. The 3F smaller bottle was $45. The kicker was the Rare Barrel draft, which was $14 for 5oz, which I think equates to more like $75 a 750 bottle. Given that I've paid to fly to Brussels to get Cantillon, I think this was still cheaper on a net basis, but for a group of four, it really added up to a lot. FWIW, the DeGarde Citra Gose definitely was a highlight. What was interesting was that the Bar Manager (I think) mentioned that we were the first to order the Kriek (Thursday eve) and he had it since Monday. The only reason I went is that Untappd posted that they had 3F A&G. When we arrived we saw all the rest.

If you won the Smails bet, you could only get the 3F or a small draft pour or two unless you won the follow-on bet as well...
