Tipopils Day 2023 (in Italy and Europe).

Tipopils is a beer that has made school since 1996, in fact it is the mother of Italian Pilsener, a style not explicitly recognized by the "gentlemen" of the BJCP, but yes by many craftsmen who have the honesty, common sense and respect to acknowledge which for their creations was a source of inspiration as a new way of understanding Pils (In Italy its very name is the portmanteau of "Tipo" (that is: "a sort of") and "Pils".

Also this year it will be celebrated in many clubs in Italy, and for the first time in all of Europe!
On 23 March 2023, starting at 7pm, two special versions of our Italian flagship beer will be served simultaneously in these selected venues.

The first is the gravity-fed cask with an additional dry hopping made inside the cask itself: a special hop bag containing the blend of hops we use for Tipopils is suspended inside the cask; for a maximum aromatic yield.
I have already personally had the opportunity to taste it on previous TipoPils Days and it actually distances itself quite far from the original version in terms of aromatic fragrance.

The second version is an innovation that I have not yet felt the pleasure of tasting and I hope to do so today: it's Tipopils in kegs packed with Keg Dry-hopped technology, with free hopping in the keg.
Inside the special keykegs, the hops are added without a "protection net" and freely dissolved in the beer: the greater contact surface, and the fact that the hop particles can pass through the liquid in its entirety, allows for an experience of freshness and aromatic impact if possible even more intense.

I can't wait to go and taste both the basic version and these two variations. Notes of my impressions taken during the tasting will follow both here and on the thread "What beer are you drinking now?" tomorrow or the day after.

In the meantime, if you find yourself in the places where the European pubs participating in the event are, I STRONGLY recommend you go and taste it.

Here she is:
This is TipoPils in a gravity-fed cask with an additional dry hopping made inside the cask itself thanks to a hop bag containing the blend of hops we use for Tipopils is suspended inside the cask.
Compared to the "normal" version, the look is slightly more veiled, although still very clean.
Soft and creamy foam, slightly less consistent.
Carbonation, clearly, less lively than the TipoPils tapped from a keg (and for my taste I really liked this).
The taste is greatly influenced by the live hopping: the cereal and bread crust part is lost in favor of a much more evident herbaceous sensation (just like fresh grass).
Even the finish is much less dry, softer than the "classic" TipoPils which leaves a decidedly more recognizable bitter sensation.
Very easy and pleasant to drink, such a product is not easy to find in our Italian production.

I haven't had the pleasure yet, but if I find it available at the sources that bring us beers from your latitudes, I will certainly keep the advice in mind.
I would add that I really hope to find her since more than a few labels of this beermaker are often available.
