Will be visiting Twin Cities in two weeks. Where are the best places to grab a craft brew. It can be either a brewery, a brewpub or a restuarant with great selections. Thanks

If you are in Minneapolis, stop by Town Hall. Good food, good beer. Many other options here.

Republic across from Town Hall is great. Also try Happy Gnome, Mackenzies, New Bohemia, Indeed Tap
Room, Haute Dish, and Butcher and the Boar. Lots of other great places but these are my favorites.

If you want a good combination of food and beer, go to Northbound. Killer food and some good local taps in addition to their stuff.

I second Northbound! That place is legit! If you are looking to spend a little more you can not go wrong with the Butcher & the Boar. I am also a really big fan of Busters on 28th. Indeed is a must if you are looking to go to the best tap room in MN.

Let me know if you need any others.

    Cheers!

The Bulldog has good food and a decent selection of beer at any of their locations.

Republic is OK for beer selection but you need night vision goggles to read the menu....dark...dark...dark....went to Town Hall after our stop there and their lighting is subdued but I felt like I was on the surface of of the sun in comparison....maybe they keep it so dark to disguise their food....I ordered a burger medium well and it came back rare....same with the guy with me....I'll be sticking with TH in the future....love their burgers there and they are done the way I like and I can actually read the beer menu without a flashlight...

Yup...that's what it felt like in comparison even though in actuality it was probably only mildly lit.

Don't get me wrong, I love to use hyperbole, but damn... That statement makes me want to check out Republic again simply for the lighting.

There's a bar in La Crosse (I forget the name of the place) where the bartender wears one of those head-mounted miniature flashlight thingies. The place is seriously murky and decrepit from all of the old smoke and dust of years past! Some cool breweriana, though. The same guy also used to wear them when he worked at "Casino". :sunglasses:

OP, for my vote I'll throw Great Waters into the mix. It's in downtown St. Paul, and there's a number of other good drinking/dining/snacking options nearby (Alary's, Bulldog, Burger Moe's) if you're up for a little fun outside of The 612.

Republic is very, very dimly lit. Kind of nice if you are out on a date I guess.

They do always seem to have a really good limited release beer on though and their flight price is a great deal.

Great info!! Will plan on going to a few of the suggested places. Will Stub & Herbs be a good place to go after the Gophers hockey game on this Saturday?
