I wish they bottled more Zee, but Pompeii is fantastic and very consistent from batch to batch. I hope it becomes one of their regulars

So, you've had at least 100 cans of Florida 'Sue? Impressive! :grinning:

Nope just one can from two different batches. There was one batch of Florida bottles that was right up there with some of the Decorah batches.

I too wish they would do some Zee. It's been a minute since we got a batch. It is fair to remember that hop contracts are years out and most likely the things that were killing at the time were Sue, Sosus, and MFalcon. They prolly doubled down on Mosaic, Falconer's, and Citra. It seems like a smart move because, I believe, they are all american hops so they can build relationships with good "local" growers. I wish we could see double galaxy, but I know that those hops are hotter than liquid fire and everyone wants them, especially now that everyone knows that Tree House's Green uses Galaxy as its main dry hop. Mike said a little while ago in a tweet to me that some fun "souther hemisphere" stuff would be soon, but I assume we are still on the rails of fulfilling new markets as often as possible and big batches of a single beer is a lot more bang vs buck.

I saw Zeelander at Haskell's in Chan last week and Pompeii in Shakopee on Tuesday, obviously the "old" batch.

Ouch. I don't want to think about how old that Zeelander is....

But I think it was Clark that posted on here that their IPAs are brewed to stand up to some time, as long as they are kept cold. It would still be better than some beers around!
I'll pass, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Zee is my favorite TG beer. I have read a couple of places that Nelson Sauvin hops are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to get. There is a RUMOR that Alpine will either remove Nelson from national distro, or make it a seasonal. That's tough to believe as you would think they have contracts far out, but hey, this is the internet.

If people are still looking for Pompeii, there's a bunch of bottles at Cub Liquor in White Bear. About two months old though. I cracked one last week and it still drank great.

I heard the very same rumor about Alpine Nelson yesterday from my local, who said he heard from his distributor and...I wonder how these rumors spread.

I'm not going to argue that Fl. Sue ($10 for 64oz.) is probably a touch inferior to Decorah Sue ($9 for 22oz.). However due to value and availability Florida Sue is a very welcome addition to Minnesota liquor stores IMO.
