Figured I would start this one off with long one. What would Cantillon Saint Lamvinus(2021) or Vigneroone(2021) get in terms of hops like say Fidens, Monkish, Tree House etc? also interested in lagers from places like Fox Farm, Suarez, Bierstadt.

Also does DeGarde(Riesling Ivy and The Serine) or Stillwater Artisanal( Preternatural Cuvée 1, 2, 3) carry any value?

I’ve done no trading since the pandemic started so I’m more than a little out of the loop. Thank you for any information you can provide!

    Cheers!

Thanks Gingerbeard. I'm not great with valuing hops to lambic so I'll leave that to others.

I'm curious as to opinions on WoL Monk's Café for Clover b2.

It's probably around 8 cans :1 bottle. Maybe 6 for Fiden's if you want to close it fast, and 10 for Tree House. Can maybe get 10-12 cans on lagers.

DeGarde and Stillwater don't carry much value.

i have done a few trades recently like this, me on the monkish side, and i usually send around 8ish cans for a bottle like that. sometimes its a little less if were doing a few bottles. Sometimes its a little more if its a fancy bottle

As a broadly similar trade, I traded eight local-to-me hops/lagers from BKS and Alma Mader for a bottle each of Cantillon CSG (2019) and Brabantiae (2018) last spring. It was IP in Europe, so the ratio was definitely better on my end than what could reasonably be expected if that trade had happened in the States - where (as other posters had mentioned) I'd expect the ratio to be around 8-10 cans per bottle.

I'm guessing no. A year ago Zenne b1 was going for ~700, so I'd imagine it'd be a little more now just due to scarcity.

I’m not someone that is in any of the groups to watch secondary, so this is probably laughably silly, but…I thought regular KBBS was around 400? So, I’m confused. Is this really as low as KBBS, or is KBBS down quite a bit now? You wouldn’t guess that from the trade boards I feel like.

KBBS is down a lot now. Seen several move for under 250, seems to be around 230 and may keep dropping. Feel like it'll settle around 200 by next year.

    Two eunoia questions:

where does batch 12 sit value-wise?

and do older batches like batch 2 hold much value?

Been wanting to land a KBBS. I have DB BCBS 19 and most recent ADTWD TO (full color). Could someone give me an idea of how close or far I am?

Most Eunoia that aren't hype settle around 85-100, but b12 is a little hype so is around 130 rn. B2 is old now, but probably 150-175ish.

Secondary to secondary, you're pretty much there. DB BCBS has fallen in value to like 130-140, and ADWTD TO is not much more than Tavour cost (110-120). KBBS is around 230-250. I feel like you COULD ask for a small plus, rather than going 2:1, maybe like a can or two of Benthic or Pulpit Rock.

Around 700-800 still. If you're trying to trade up with beer, would probably be 800-850. If you're trading bourbon or cash, can maybe get it at 700. I feel like there can't be many bottles left FT out there either, so it's a right set of eyes situation.

However, I think TG has announced a b2 DB Assassin (not Rye, Bourbon/Brandy). So that will probably be out this year too if I'm not mistaken.

Am I near a DB Rye Assassin?

Cerebral - George T Stagg Here Be Monsters
    Revolution - DB VSOJ x 3, Boss Ryeway x1
Goose Island - 2 Year Barleywine Reserve

I have other Revolution deep woods from past 2 years. If I’m getting close.

I also have a Vanilla Assassin ‘22 that I planned on sharing with buddies that missed out, but would rather share the DB Rye. Ideally could share both, but I’m terrible at values.

Nah, not that close and you need a bigger anchor if you want to trade. I've seen DB Rye close for $400, but will likely drop to $300 or lower if I were to guess. A lot of what you have isn't much over cost, Here be Monsters is like $50, 2-Year Barleywine is like $50, and DB VSOJ is maybe $130 for the 3 cans. So if you just sold all those, you'd still be a bit short.

Alternatively, if you're in Iowa, I really can't imagine it being that hard to find someone willing to share Rye DB Assassin with you.

Tavour is getting DBVSOJ now also, so it’s likely dropping some value as well. I’ll enjoy what I have and try to find a share.

I'm looking for a variety of 22-23 Deep Woods cans (not DBVSOJ) to trade for a 2022 Assassin (regular, pink wax).

    I was thinking of posting FT: 2022 Assassin ISO: Thundertaker x 1, Lumberstruck x 1, VSO Dark Mode x 1, Boss Ryeway x 1.

Having a hard time determining how I'm doing on value on both sides. I would also be interested in 21-22 Deep Woods releases that didn't make it to MN if that helps.

    Any feedback appreciated!

If you want straight-up values (FB etc.), I’m not your guy. In terms of what seems fair based on what I feel like the trade value is on those cans, I feel like Boss is the only real limited one, and then behind that Thundertaker and Lumber have a little value.

If I was on either side, I feel like the DW side should add 1-2 more cans depending on what they are. Like 2 or 3 if you just want some DT or SJ or something “shelfie”.

    Just one man’s opinion.

KBBS might be “valued” just a little bit higher, but personally I would do that trade because a) KBBS has been made so many times and chances are you’ve already had it and b) DB Generational is absolutely phenomenal. I personally prefer it to KBBS.

    100%

I have had both and have a DB gen and while the thought crossed my mind, I wouldn’t do that trade because as @jeevo pointed out KBBS is made every year and DB gen is not. You can always try to ask for a small plus and then post 1:1 if you don’t get traction.

There are not a lot of data points, but I would think around KBBS. I don't know bourbon comparisons, just beer.

For the record, one of the best non-adjunct stouts I've ever had.

I was lucky and found one for $200 + my label a year and a half ago. But this was undervalued, I'd guess it's in the $300+ range. It's really really hard to find one, and probably no one actively on BA has one. My guess is it'd take an ETL or more to land it. Also, it's way past its prime, my friends and I all thought it was pretty bad.

Super top shelf stuff rarely trades for beer. Secondary is going down though on both beer and bourbon, but bourbon is still much higher than beer. For reference: PVW15 - $1600, GTS - $1000, ORVW - $700, Lot B - $850, WLW - $1600, OFBB - $800

You're still short secondary, Ann is around $1000 and Samuel around $250. If it helps, I've seen Lot B + W12 (2:1), and GTS (1:1) close for Ann. Someone offered me Ann + WFP SP + BBT22 for my PVW15, which I declined. I'm considering letting go of my PVW15 + ORVW for Ann plus another HF whale (Le Sarassin, Flora Cuvee, Being & Time, Anne), but still haven't decided to pull the trigger yet.

I know this may be impossible to know the answer to just yet, so apologies that im an impatient dummy, but it looks like LC members will have access to this years OWK. Do you think it will have the same secondary as b1? Or will being b2 lower it a bit?

who knows? nobody has bottles. all that is known is that it is a member only release. anyone who gives you an answer is giving you a low value because they want it, or a high value because they have it.

This is a really good response.

The interesting thing about SP, is that when they do a B1 great, B2 seems to always be "even better". Somehow. How, I don't know, but they seem to do that better than nearly every other brewery. A true anomaly on that front. That said, it sounds like they are making it pretty available for people to try, which could obviously bring down the value.

So, going back to @Affinity 's post, there's just no way to know right now, and anyone that tells you so is probably misleading you.
