I was judging based on people ISO for it. What people are offering for it has honestly been surprising to be. I am not looking to trade mine, I bought to drink, I just am pointing out that based solely on whats been offered on the ISO FT forum, $4$ locals is no where ner accurate.

It looks like all of the Westy 12 sellers have taken their listings onto Craigslist. Still can't believe people are willing to shell out $400-$500+ for a brick.

I see 4 ISO Westy today.

One appears to be a complete non-trader with 3 posts to his name, who at best has no idea what's going on (or doesn't care) offering up Rare, and at worst something else.

One is from MA offering up stuff that may seem limited but we tend to swim in, and it's possible he overstocked his cellar with some of it.

One is offering a perfectly reasonable 2 BCBS for 1 Westy.

One is offering a shitty $100 gimmick bottle that can still be found in places if you look hard enough.

Not much debunking there, and even if these were offers of walez for westy, it's only 4 people - hardly a market setter on the 100,000 or whatever bottles of Westy 12 out there right now. All of the crazy things in the ISO/FT forum seem to clearly be on the side of "FT: Westy".

Now, obviously nobody is going to trade a Westy brick for $85 worth of Smuttynose variety packs. But it's going to be much closer to that than BA Dark Lord + Kate.

Nor do I think it should trade for BA Dark Lord plus Kate.
Twist it anyway you want, but since seeing this thread I started watching the ISO: FT and not a single ISO had offered anything I would consider anywhere close to a shelf local. Im not trying to debate what its value should be, just saying that those who were undermining it as nothing more than $4$ locals are not correct. That argument made no sense from the beginning.

I'm sorry, but I'm not twisting anything, and I disagree completely with your interpretation.

Nobody is even looking for the beer, period. 4 ISO's on the day after release? That's a beer that doesn't even have much trade interest, and beers that don't have much trade interest don't go for anything. Especially when there are 100,000+ bottles of it floating around. The latest BCBS flavor of the month has 4 ISO's on a random day 3 months after release.

Just like people are saying throughout this thread - everybody has either had it, or most were able to get it on shelves. Just because a few people land something more limited does not mean most will.
