I stand corrected! Orange wouldn’t have been juice machine anyway I suppose.

Green, VG and Ggg are all very similar but very different. Haven’t had VG in a while but it was really good when I did.

Ggg is pretty much a milkshake

I read the bylaws for this group and checked Twitter to get an idea but was wondering if there’s a general timeframe for taproom pours on a Friday. I saw twitter posts ranging from 2:30-4:30 over the past month re. pours but wasn’t sure if that was strictly indicative of when they start pouring. Also, im fully aware of how it can vary based on release type, weather, time of year, etc, but if I arrive around 10-10:30 on a Friday how long might I be waiting for cans after open.

Thanks in advance and sorry for being “that guy”

Fridays are tough and the crowds seem to be random lately. I would say if you show up at 10:30 you'll be one of the first few people in line and will wait anywhere from 5-20 min after opening. Lately pours have started almost immediately after open due to no crowds, but like I said, Fridays are tough to predict lately but are usually the busiest weekday. Based on what's been going on, it would take a mega drop like JM, GM or KJ to have a large line. Pours will probably be on by 2pm otherwise.

Some staff have alluded to Nate typically dropping crazy stuff in the third/fourth week of January, for what it's worth.

Based on all the Bright variants, tomorrow will be one of two things:

    Totally dead

    Or

Crazy busy because of a whale drop to move all the Bright variants out of there

Like double shot, which is thrown from the brite into bottles and sold the next day with a label that says to store upright and drink fresh, "do not age." Or impermanence, which says "do not age" on the bottle.. Or Miles to Go, which says "do not age" on the bottle.

The bottled stout prices are only outrageous next to their own canned stouts, but still a bit wonky. they're pretty much in line with what the rest of the industry sells adjunct stouts for, even if they don't pack quite as much flavor punch.

^ Last Friday can line was before the bathrooms (short) and both top lots we're full. Pour line was HUGE. Pour's really tie up the parking spaces and that pour line boarderline doesn't even seem worth it.

Are you 100% sure it’s bottled off the brite tank and sold the next day? Not questioning just wondering.

Bottle conditioning has benefits other than preserving the beer for an extended period of time. Those are high adjunct beer, those flavors will fade regardless of how the beer is packaged. The mouthfeel from natural carbonation is different than that from forced. Mouthfeel is critical to the perception of their beers.

Everett is bottle conditioned. Or has been in the past.

When they released Hedronic Adaptation, the bottles were still in the canning area and they were manually putting growler tags on each one with the name because they had no labels. This tells me it was sold immediately after bottling but no one really knows. I've never seen bottles being filled there, only cans on the line.

You can ‘bottle condition’ in the bright tank too. I do it all time with my home brew kegs, which are essentially small bright tanks.

3 years ago if someone told you there would be 10 options available including a Curiosity and no lines, you would assume that the business went under or that prohibition had returned.

Pretty sure all the dark beers are brewed and bottled in the old location.

I don’t think that’s any indication of when the beer was bottled.

You can yes... but it takes that volume of liquid a lot longer to get up to bottle conditioning temps. Unless you have a separate heating loop installed, which they might. And bright tank space is much more valuable than space in the warehouse or a warm room.

I don’t think dark beers are brewed in the old location. People saw them bottling the last DS in charlton while it was being sold, similar to the hedonic comment.

Yeah I'm guessing some are, and some aren't. Some recent releases specifically said they were brewed in Monson. Spiritual Unrest and Nervous Energy IIRC.

I think we are off the rails. It's still weird that they're that much more unless they go through significantly more conditioning than their slightly weaker counterparts, be it in a bottle or a tank.

Double shot was $22/2l in growlers and is $48/2l now, presumably being brewed at a larger scale.
