I guess it depends. Is there a black market for coasters? Are people selling them for $50 each? What's the legality of something like that? I'm pretty sure reselling beer is illegal, correct me if I'm wrong.

But it's not really the same. I've seen people make shit out of old beer cans. I'd put your example on that level.

The hype seems to be elsewhere than this thread these days. They dropped that August Moon aged ale thing the other Friday and it generated a 2 hour line and sold out in less than 2 hours. Yet, not one person on here has really talked about getting it or how it drank. The fine folks on here seem to be aware that there's a new era and the once hyped releases are no longer a big deal. The lines have not really died down as much as I thought they would. The weekly 2+ hour waits are for the most part over with the exception of Friday mornings which even now don't get that bad (still well over an hour). The offerings and limits are sky high so the self generated hype isn't as big of an excuse anymore. The bottom line is they print money and people want to keep giving it to them. Hell, they sold out of the puzzles yesterday at $20 each 1pp

This is a good thing IMO. Obviously GM is the holy Grail, but other than that not really. I could see Very Gggreen reaching that status considering the rating and how ridiculous it is, but meh. Overall I think "hype beers" have died down everywhere. Sure, Tree House drops KJ on Friday and it will be insane but ultimately there is enough to last into the next week.

Look at MBC Dinner. Used to be a quarterly thing and people literally camped out to buy it. Now you can walk in any day and it's just sitting there, 2 weeks old.

A lot of it is regularity. Once something loses its "rare" status people just move on to the next big thing, so long as that thing is rare. Also rarity just tastes better.

    I'm already in line.

Btw, I'm at TH now. Ended up with a full case of cans. Would have had more but Julius sold out.

Anyway, drinking a Vanilla Bean Double Shot right now. The vanilla and chocolate still overpower the coffee, but the sweetness has definitely been dialed back a bit. Maybe it's just me but this is a good sign. DS had always been a coffee stout, but lately it's pretty much a pastry stout without the "pastry". Still incredible, but toeing the line.

I got 3 cans of DS so my hype is through the roof. I'm not expecting early Monson Double Shot but since they're now using their own coffee I'm expecting it to play a bigger role, while the chocolate steps back just a tad.

I debated saying "fuck it" and adding a mixed case of Sssappp and Super Sap because those two beers are the tits but I didn't. Oh well.

I don't believe they had OG on draft. Got 3 cans of it though.

This. I can’t get enough of these two beers. Throw in Sap and I’ll gladly take 8 each to go.

I think there’s a decent chance we see it this year or next.

Huge chance we see a barrel aged stout in the next 3 months. Only issue is batch size. It will have to be 1pp

Don’t think we’ll see one till February at the earliest. Fill date on those barrels was 3/23, 12 months of aging is usually par for the course, so my guess would be April, unless they had other stuff stashed away we don’t know about

Where's the MoC, Impermanence, Nervous Energy, or Fleeting moment drop??

Also, remember Spiritual Unrest? Didn't get much blueberry out of it, but I thought it was a really good stout.

I really wonder how much different it would be from beers they are currently canning and releasing regularly with the same/similar ingredients and same/similar abv...

    I really can't picture it.

I don't think there's enough recognition for how extreme the flavor spectrum has been amped up over the years. I'd be willing to bet most of their draft only beers are far more explosive than what GM was when it was released, and their canned maple coffee stouts are probably pretty parallel, if not entirely indistinguishable...

I could be wrong, who knows, we can't time travel.

GM will be the greatest beer in all the land. The flavors will overwhelm your taste buds, and, if you aren't careful, send you into anaphylactic shock. Tears of joy will stream down your cheeks and little sprouts of scruffy hair will appear on your neck within two sips.

Nate has resisted brewing it for these reasons. He will finally succumb to the pressure, but in compromise, will have a waiver handed out with each order that must be filled out and signed.

Everytime I go to Treehouse I can’t help but think about what ever happened to that Treehouse/Creature Comforts collaboration!?! I think it was right after CC released “see the stars” which was very good in my opinion.

It probably didn’t turn out as expected/hoped and they decided not to release it. Which is honestly why should happen with most collaboration beers. Rarely are they better than said breweries standard beers. Most often they’re worse.

I will be making my first trip to Treehouse on Saturday and have a couple of questions.

I'm going to be short on time - what time should I go if I want to get in and out as quickly as possible?

I would like to buy as many beers as possible even if it means just getting one or two cans of most. Is this a bad/annoying idea as far as the staff will be concerned? Should I tip more as a result?

    1. go as late as possible

Abstraction Coffee is also absurdly good. I only got 1 can cuz I went with 4 double shots. Wish I had one more so I could side-by-side, because based off memory I can hardly tell the different. Abstraction maybe a little smoother and less roasty.

mmmmmm This really seems like a troll post and I will answer it accordingly while also adding some useful information. 1: Don't go on Saturday unless it is after 8pm. 2a: Check your syntax- as much beer as possible would be all the cases available. 2b. Tree House is a retail business You are buying luxury products; get whatever combo you want. 3: Tips are appreciated.

    1) As late as you can, up to closing time.
    2) They go through thousands of people a day, and they're all still cool until the last person leaves. Order the beer you want, however you want. They made all of it, they are hardly gonna give you shit for anything you order. They'll be smiling and cool to you.
    3) Nobody's gonna say no to bigger tips, but any tip is cool.

Can anyone confirm that TH donates their tips to local charities? I thought that was the deal, but a quick search turned up nothing. Thought I had read that during the Trillium tipping weirdness deal, but not sure.

The best coffee-est coffee beer out there, as far as I've tasted. DS has a fuller body and flavor, but Abstraction Coffee is a very specific awesomeness all its own.

I still have no real understanding of where porters and stouts differ. I'm also quite interested to see what this beer becomes when they use their own coffee. As far as I know, they've never advertised who's beans they've used in any of the Abstraction versions so far.

idk where you've been, but I always answer people's questions when going for a first time or whatever.

The one you are most likely referring to is the jabroni who was driving 5 hours and might skip Julius and Green depending on the opinion of other jabronis on here about how the batches are.

Also, I ran out of Cialis
