Wouldn’t it be nice if they just told us...
Nope. However dumb enough to go to Sally's pizza in new haven then to NEBCO after dropping son off at school. Close but not as dumb???
Yeah, but then it wouldn't be a talking point. If it weren't tree house people would actually express distain for this practice.
What I don't understand is why they don't just print the entire recipe on the can along with a yeast sample in a baggie taped to the side. We, the loyal paying customers, deserve that much at least.
If it weren't Tree House people would, correctly, not give a shit.
I don't know - I don't agree with that -t here are definitely beers I run out for locally a little more quickly given the hops used, or ones I'll avoid like Sabro. I don't think it's a necessity, and they can do what they want, but I think people care for sure. They're not obligated to tell me. I'm also sure it matters to people locally far more than, say, me. If I get up to TH, I'm buying everything I can because I never get there. If you live 10 miles away, and trek over to get a new beer, you may be more persuaded or dissuaded based on the ingredients, of course.
Everyone knows how Heady Topper has always been forthright about its hops. Fans seem to really care about all the details of that beer.
Honestly up until some of the "new age" hops came about, and really more so up until NEIPAs became ubiquitous, it was fairly rare to know all the hops used. I never ordered Racer 5s and Finestkinds caring what hops were in them.
I'm ambivalent about it. For the types of beer that focus on specific hops like Trill's Street series or various single-hop offerings out there, I guess it's kind of nice to know and to learn about them. Once you're mixing a few hops I couldn't care less as so much more goes into the flavor as well. I don't care not knowing what's in Julius or Santilli.. they're just damned tasty IPAs. That's all that matters.
Which is all fine - nobody says you have to care. But there's quite an abyss between "I don't care" and "nobody cares." In many instances, I don't care either. And in some instances, it makes a difference, or helps me prioritize where I'm going to spend that week.
Exotic American Hops certainly does sound sexier and more mysterious than...Citra, but for this 30th iteration thrown into the kettle from the roof. Science tells us that the further the hops fall into the kettle, the better the flavor extraction!
Man, this isn’t going well.
I’ll just go back to being critical and negative.
TREE HOUSE SUCKS
Not an original thought, I think someone else itt said it, but much of TH's recent portfolio additions scream "our galaxy contract is way too fucking big."
That shouldn't be viewed as a negative. If they can't make enough galaxy beers they can sell it on the spot market. For me, continue making green, VG, GGG, VGGG, etc. I won't be mad.
yeah but it's also going towards Punch and Autumn (are these even different?) and other such beers.
and get off my damn yard while youre at it!
Distiller job for "Brand new spirits program". A cidery, farm, coffee, now spirits. What's next?
One's under 7% abv and one's over 8% abv, to start with. And maybe to end with?
Since Tree House is essentially the business that seventeen year old me dreamed about starting, I guess a record label?
And Eureka Galaxy, Green today.
Eureka galaxy is wizardry to me. No clue how they only get the best fruity aspects of galaxy and none of the dank in such a small abv beer.
It’s been a while since I’ve made the trek out, is there a separate pour line for people who aren’t buying cans? Hoping to stop by this Sunday afternoon and some of my non-beer nerd friends will likely pass on cans.
EDIT: Evidently there is... just realized they have an FAQ page on the website.
Yes but I don't think Sunday is a pour day
I guess it isn’t technically, it would be nice if it wasn’t such a guessing game. But I’d say Sunday afternoon is a fairly safe time to assume the bar will be open.
That’s what I thought, but the on tap page lists it as cans & draft now
Guess so hadn't seen that, then yes there is a separate line for that which now nicely isnt in the direct flow of can line. Cheers
Digging into some stouts I’ve stashed away and having Space & Time right now....not loving this, there is a pretty prominent metallic note.
Didn’t read much chatter about this when it came out, anyone else have one recently?
I posted something about that a few months ago. There was a span where all their stouts had this metallic thing going on. They've gotten better but Space and Time was by FAR the worst offender of them all. The only TH stout I drain poured after a few sips. I wouldn't mind seeing them put this in barrels but I think it's one of those one offs like Spiritual Unrest (Which I enjoyed a lot) that they brew very infrequently.
There is zero erection for 2 new diabetes milk stouts!?! WOW
I believe he is busy trying to change his hand to "PMDawnOfAllErections."
Damn that was funny!!!!!! Made me sputter out some pre-mature leakage there!!!
the beetus can cause ED.
Seven milk stouts on the menu today, be careful out there guys.
Any guess on profit margin on can of milk stout? I assume it’s calculated at barrel level but just curious.
Fudge will taste exactly like IWNBA and All that Is
Intemperance sounds good
The erection has spoken
Yep and if you listen to it too often it will get you into trouble.
TH lineup blowing-up w/ stouts this week
Does anyone know if they are filling growlers? My friend is going there today.
They have filled growlers once since the new spot opened, was a batch of curiosity I believe
That sucks but thanks for the reply.
Twitter said more to come after the triple j drop. Silent at opening?
