What is everyone's take on junkyard live tweeting their deliveries?

Personally I like the transparency even though it guarantees that I have no chance of scoring a BA Uncrushable.

Brilliant marketing. I like knowing when my neighborhood beer store is getting Junkyard deliveries. Maybe will cut down on calls to the bottle shops.

Ironically, this makes you a truck chaser.

Having done the chase, no one actually chases a truck. It's all about information. This gets you on par, if not ahead, of the typical info. I'm all for it.

No CW Peruvian in the north suburbs yet.

Basically makes it impossible to get your hands on their limited beer unless stores wait to sell it.
Also makes it more likely that the same people (who presumably are on break or not working that day) get multiples of the limited stuff.
Oh well, its just beer. And there is plenty of good beer these days!

If I didn't work during the day or was a truck chaser I would love it. But for me if they would just tweet the delivery day and not the exact time it would help my access to their beer. Oh well, it's just beer.

I think Junkyard is live twitting to increase their hype. Unfortunately they are limiting their distribution to mainly customers who can buy beer during the workday hours. Once they aren't the hottest, latest must have brewery people won't care as much (i.e. Lupulin) and Junkyard will be much easier to find/buy.

Liquor Barrel Golden Valley has Lupulin/Barrel Theory Cohoperation. Blue Max Liquor in Burnsville has it too.

I stopped by both Top Ten SLP and F44 over lunch, both told me that people had been waiting in the stores for the trucks to arrive in the morning, and therefore sold out of BA Uncrushable the moment it was delivered.

Also, Top Ten SLP only got 3 cans of it. What is the point of delivering only 3 cans? Trying to build maximum rare beer hype?

I like the transparency and I like how they're making constant deliveries. I'm all for crowlers, but several stores don't move through them fast enough. I mean, shelf life is very short...right? They don't last as long as cans/bottles?

I'd rather Junkyard deliver in short constant bursts every other week or so knowing that whatever I buy from them will be fresh and not a month(s) old. Stinson is raffling off cans of BA Uncrushable, which I thought was a nice move.

I probably shouldn't say this but I would feel like such a loser if I was standing around during the morning in a liquor store waiting for the delivery truck to come. Then again I spend a lot of time on this forum 'reading' about beer so I probably shouldn't talk.

Starting next week, Fulton will be releasing mixed 4-packs of cans of different barrel-aged beers. It will include: Bourbon BA Proper Porter, Port/Madeira BA Worthy Adversary, Bourbon BA Libertine, and Cognac BA Worthy Adversary. I wish it included BA Patience.

I was going to say something similar and then deleted my comment before posting. Good grief...

This is the only part of the Junkyard delivery method I hate, why just not mention when you're sending stores such small allotments of something and let a couple people who show up for the more accessible beer be surprised that something like a few BA Uncrushable cans came with what they were already going to buy rather than a bunch of people be disappointed when they find out they never had a shot at the more rare release. Just my 2 cents, will still happily buy their beer when they send it.

Thanks for the heads up, sounds really cool. I also agree on the cognac patience. Everytime I'm in a store and see a BA Fulton bottle from a distance my heart skips a beat.

Transparency is great, truck chasers are worse, most stores got 4-9 cans all cleaned out, in the am and early afternoon.

Anyone try/buy 2018 CW Peruvian Morning? Thoughts on how its tasting?. Its been about 4-5 years for drinkable bottles and 2-3 years or so for kegs.

Had one last night. Lots of coffee and light on the barrel. Thought it was fantastic.
