I am trying to collect all 15. Got a behind and got #7-Brown Fox and #8-Incinerator over the weekend. Still need to get #6-Old 1713. But, I was thinking to add Hop Juice and Hop Juice Black, since they were released on top of the start of the 15-15. Just trying to make it interesting.

You might want to hunt down one of these, too.

I'm doing the same thing as you as far as collecting them all, plus the Hop Juice. Unfortunately, my bottle of HJB exploded out in the garage while I was on a 12-day road trip. Sad face!

Good suggestion for the Div & Lille.

(Full disclosure, I already drank my 3-HJB's)

Just saw Philosopher's Stone on the shelves for the first time today (#9). A Black Saison! Little more pricey than the others at $7.99 but definitely intriguing.

I hope they end up doing a big imperial stout, IIPA, or barely wine by the end of this thing.

They have never brewed a barleywine at least according to BA so that's out, other than northwind the only RIS was called Iditarod back in 2004, and they have a IIPA called Hop Juice. So, you might get 1 of the 3?

If anyone has missed any of these R&J Liquors in Batavia had a lot of them still on the shelves. Red Eye, 1712, Pillar of Salt, the new Dopplebock... with some fresh FFF too.

I really like this black saison, especially for the price.

Just opened up a Philosopher's Stone and it smells and tastes like popcorn. Hope it's just a bad bottle as I have one more.

I've noticed some quality control issues. I tried the Old Scotch Ale and it was infected. The carbonation and taste was way off. Anyone else have issues like that with any of the ones thus far?

I stand corrected. Didn't see that at the very bottom of the list (and it's not archived), hmmm?

I has brett along with the saison spices gave it a very different taste, but I didn't get popcorn from it.

I haven't noticed any off flavors in any Two Brothers beer I have ever had, but I'm not saying that there hasn't been any off bottles

Anyone else tried the Div & Lille yet?

Definately interesting, but wonder if it used belgian sugars, and if yes....did that fully match up w/ the hop profile. IMO the lingering taste seem slightly out of balance. But, admittedly tasted in the #6 spot of an evenings bottle sampling.

So I had the Pahoehoe back when they had it tap only at the tap house. Really enjoyed it back then, it was a coconut ale that, I don't know, tasted like coconut.

I went and bought a couple bombers of it last night and it was terrible. No coconut flavor at all, and really not far off from BMC quality - drain pour.

Not that 2 Bros has ever really been an outstanding brewery, but I don't know what's going on over there lately. It seems like there are a lot of consistency issues along with just a general downturn in quality.

It's a shame considering I live so close to the brewery. I want to like 2 Bros so much, buuuuut....

I felt the same way about the Red Eye. I remembered a lot more coffee flavor. :slight_frown:

I feel the same way. Being so close in proximity has simply been a let down. They refuse to truly venture out and continue to make styles for the masses, even for beers on tap only at the brewery and/or round house. Other than Cane & Ebel, Hop Juice (and HJB), and RedEye Coffee Porter nothing has been that impressive. Even the few sours they've made have been OK but nothing I've wanted to buy more than 1 bottle of.

Not sure when it hit the shelves, but I found #10 today. Pahoehoe, a coconut ale. This beer is already listed on BA but it appears this batch was made a little stronger, at 7.1% vs the listed 5%. Gonna have to open this tonight

If I may ask, where did you find the Pahoehoe? From what I gathered on Two Brother's FB page, they released it on the 6th of August but it's been scarce all over Chicagoland because of an error in Windy City Distribution's "system"...whatever that means. I've had issues finding it anywhere and am hoping to grab one. Thanks for anyone's help!

I got to try Pahoehoe at the brewery when I was in town a couple weeks ago but struck out picking up a bottle of it. If anyone would be willing to hook me up/trade me their empty bottle for my collection of the 15, I'd really appreciate it.

Windy City indeed had their entire system go down for 14 days, which is an absolute nightmare to deal with. It just went back online yesterday afternoon, so i'd imagine things will start making their way out and about this week and next, like Pahoehoe, Sixpoint's Brownstone, etc. Bear with them, they'll get it all out.

They brewed Paradise Stout too.. or was that just BA Northwind??

That along with the best mistake ever, Imperial Cane n Ebel, are two beers I imagine won't make this series.

Sounds like Heliocentric is coming though.. and I've had.a tough time finding Incinerator.

What do you think about Victor's Memoriale being in the series? That was one of the first non-hoppy craft beers I fell in love with. I'd love to see it again, but I can appreciate that the personal history behind it and understand why they wouldn't make it again.

I saw 6-packs of Atom Smasher at Trader Joes (River North) today. I don't think I've seen that anywhere else. Was last year's version (in 22oz. bottles, right?) aged in their foudres? And.... reading over reviews, I guess it was. Well, anyway, 6-packs are out there!

I never got a chance to try Victor's Memoriale.

I'd love a chance to try it again. 7.8% ABV is pretty big though.

I've really been more impressed with the smaller darker offerings in the series, tbh (Dark Mild, Brown Fox)

Atom Smasher switched to six packs last year. Including some infected ones. (See reviews for examples; I myself got stuck with two sixers of soured Marzen that soured me on the Brothers. Still made for an okay beer brat, though.)
