Any idea what this will be like? I have never been to a release of theirs, unless this is the first one...

There can't have been too many, they have only been open three months. Is this the Igor Rye Barrel you are talking about?
I'm drinking a Road 2 Ruin on tap right now. Really like it.

This is their first brewery only release for a large format bottle. Based on the fact that they are having the sons of Igor Sikorsky as guests to sign bottles that morning, I suspect they want this event to be very well attended and their bottles to fly off the shelf. Since it is their first brewery only release, I don't think anyone knows for sure what the scene will be. If you can make it, I'd recommend getting their early, even if it gets crowded later, an early arrival will ensure you get your allotment.

Only 999 bottles being sold. Should be pretty packed as they are pretty big in CT already for only being open a few months. Their facility is truly incredible tho. I highly recommend taking the tour if you can.

I'd totally be down for a bottle share since ill be hitting this event up alone. What kind of beers are you thinking? Out of state stuff or whales?

I'm fresh out of whales, so it'll be out of state stuff for me. Probably some Heady. Maybe Crooked Stave.

I'm still not 100% on the early morning bottle share, but I hope I'll make it. Just got some St. Lamvinus that would probably be tasty on a Saturday morning...

Regardless, everyone who goes to this should then head up to the Winchester to drink NEBCO brews and support a bar that's floundering despite serving up one of the best selections of local craft around - they're having a benefit to try to save the place.

    Cheers!

I love supporting bars with great beer BUT I got 2 problems with that place
    1. their food sucks
    2. Hire another manager instead of the guy who looks like he's in an old school punk rock band and even more like a junky. And if he's the owner there's no saving that place

Your such a "bad apple" or shall I say a "debbie downer".....lol.But yeah, after 2 crappy dining/food experiences there,I'm not surprised in the least that the bar is in fact floundering.

    Cheers

I hear you on the junkie-looking guy, but the few times I've had their food I've been totally satisfied. It's no Mikro, sure, but their jalapeño pork nachos are pretty great.

Well I'm a burger guy and if they're going to say it's the best burger I'm gonna eat, I think they should deliver. It was far from my top 10, but I will say that I never had their nachos...CHEERS

I guess my expectations were more modest, as I found their burger perfectly serviceable - although certainly not in my top 10, either. Of course, I suppose anything would have tasted good after a couple pitchers of Bud at the bowling alley...

Anyway, I hope the place survives only because it's nice to have a place to drink pints of NEBCO right across the street from the brewery.

I agree, when everyone was out of FBD last year smutty33 and I went down there and they had plenty left. That would be what I would miss most...CHEERS

I'm planning to take the train down, be there around 8:15-8:30 I suppose. Unless anybody coming from the north wants to give a pitiful car-less beer advocate a lift from New Haven? I'm literally 1 block off of 91 in New Haven...

Anyone know if bottle sharing is actually legit for this? Considering this is the first "release" and all......would hate to put a damper on the situation straight from the get-go.

    Any brewery insiders?
