Not quite. Vanilla and rare came out at the same time. Rare isn't a seasonal. GI has already said they will never make vanilla again due to the difficulty of cleaning out the vanilla from the tanks afterwards.

I doubt we will see Rare again either. Only way is if they secure a crapload of Pappy 23yo barrels. It'd be nice though as then we'd see KH again too. Probably my only chance to try either. I got heavy into craft beer about 6 months too late to get in on either of those when they weren't megaubershelfwhales.

 

A spec's employee told my brother that Abyss was having label approval issues and that is why it has taken so long to get here. I guess seeing it on the list of approved labels means he was right and we should expect it soon?

 

So when do you guys think The Abyss will finally hit?

Huge fan of Nightstalker so I hope we see it here soon. I was told by a Specs employee that Dissident is still coming to Austin and Abyss will follow 2 or 3 weeks after.

 

I'm pretty sure The Dissident already came and went at the BEK Austin warehouse, unless Dallas sent us more. I got my shipment at the beginning of this month.

 

I wouldnt be surprised, this same employee told me that Abyss only comes out every two years which we know isnt true. The only reason I believe him this time is that he says Dissident is his favorite beer and he was told by his distributor that it would be 10 days until their store got it. Who knows...I ended up ordering it online.

Label approvals cost money. If they never intend to send it, why spend the money?

 

It only costs 25 bucks per size and container. Don't think it is really breaking their bank.

 

Well...they have also been submitting labels and paying for licenses since...2009 I think? Somewhere around 100-125 cases of Cherry BCBS were produced. No way in hell Texas will get any when some stores are only receiving half a case shipments.

 

Maybe not retail, but I could see a keg (or a case of bombers) showing up at say, a Goose Island Texas launch party....

 

Pretty sure broken cases can't be sold by law.

Goose Island is just teasing everyone on BA. They are masterful trolls that wave Cherry BCBS in front of your face and then kick you multiple times in the balls.
