I was the guy at every restaurant asking them about every beer they had. I found a total of 3 (maybe 4) different beers. Let's just say they all met expectations. I ended up sticking with Mandalay Dark where I could find it (preferably in the big bottle). I also won't lie, I brought a 6 pack of Austin Beerworks IPA to drink when I needed an IPA (I had extra space in my backpack going that I knew I could easily free up by drinking them).

The Bruery has had aspirations of coming to Texas for a long time now...they were wined and dined by the BEK peeps a year-and-a-half + ago at the Moth, etc. Patrick himself has said that they were hoping to get here someday - hopefully, it's sooner rather than later!

If Florida can have The Bruery, we can have The Bruery.

They posted it on their Facebook page a little while ago, with the title "The wait is almost over...."

hope it is better than it was on draft. The draft just tasted like watered down bourbon...

So if I search the TABC site and do not find a beer, is it safe to assume that it isn't going to be sold in Texas?

I was looking for DFH/SN Rhizing Bines

It just means they havent been granted label approval yet. Doesnt mean they havent applied, or wont

I received word from an insider that BEK will be distributing The Bruery. I have no additional information.

From what I've gathered... most of the time the site is updated on a Monday and it tends to be 1-2 weeks behind.

For instance... a lot of the Firestone Walker beers being served this week for their launch aren't up there, but they sure as heck are already approved.

As for Rhizing Bines... it's going through the DFH channels and that's not a good sign for us getting it (they skip Texas for a lot of their limited releases and tend to wait until the second release with few exceptions). If it were going through SN it would definitely be here.

Plus it's $13 a bottle where it has been released.... which is ridiculous.

I know right now this is still just in the "I heard it from a guy" phase, but it makes me ridiculously happy none-the-less

Need to hear more about where BEK took them to dinner this time. Apparently they stepped it up from the Moth.

Well, for what it's worth, the rumor I posted came directly from a BEK employee's mouth.

You're absolutely right. All we can do now is hope that the rumors are true. I tweeted them...we'll see what they say. May be too early for them to announce.
