Short lived thread to celebrate the best part of five days of the feast of Dipso Lushus.

I have about half a dozen bank holiday weekend beer festivals within half an hour of me including 2 pie and ale fests. Breweries featured that I am unfamiliar with include; Emelisse, Sunny Republic, Siren Craft, Hop Studio and Leamside. Amongst all that a trip to the nearest (only) specialist beer shop to stock up on some favourites.

What's going to tear you away from/accompany your viewing of the Carry On films marathon?

Really great brewery, particulary in the last year or so. Try their black IPA if it's available.

But as it's a beer festival prepare yourself for the usual disappointment of them having nothing you planned for.

Maybe plan for a load of crappy bitters, then they won't have run out of the stuff you want?

They've really upped the ante on their white labels. Their imperial stout on Wild Turkey is probably better than Hel & Verdoemenis, and that's saying something coming from probably the biggest Molen fan this side of the pond.

I recommend Hop Studio - a superb little York brewery that make some cracking brews. Gold and Blonde in particular.....

Went to the Siren launch a few weeks ago. All very solid, particularly the red IPA.

So do any breweries do Easter beers? Not sure what one would be like, but I swear I've heard the term hot cross ale before...

I'm also sure I've come across a hot cross bun beer, would have swerved it.

Looked it up, Morrisons Hot Cross Ale. Looks quite gimmicky.

Started off my Easter with Saltaire Triple Chocoholic.

Oddly enough I have a bottle of that too, just going to wait until the Easter egg overload has subsided and the queasiness eases.

Brewfist Spaceman IPA, what a fantastic beer. Would like another bottle right now but will have to settle for De La Senne Taras Bulba
