That High Tea was alright. Now on a rather old Loterbock....

    It's a bit oxidised

guess there is a slight hop presence but not much

    Well it's IPA day
but I only have one in

Since they were clearing it out of my local Aldi at 99p
    Shipyard IPA
thought I'd give it a retry but refrigerated rather than my usual serve cool
the cold does get rid of the puke flavour element
    but leaves little else :/

Brass Castle's Burnout - a peat smoked porter. It's smoky but a bit lacking in depth.

2 pints of Joker IPA form cask - was really nice, not much of a fan of it in the bottle but it was on top form today. Probably more an american pale ale than an IPA by todays definition but still very tasty

Also some Oakham JHB, lovely pint as well.

Huge choice of beer in Chez Zimbo but I'm suffering from some strange beer exhaustion.

I know the feeling - too much beer and too little appetite....

That said, I'm currently having an Adnams Ghost Ship and very nice it is too.

If I hit that beer exhaustion phase I start drinking Madeira, port and Marsala. A short period of that resets my taste buds (and gives me gout).

Panda Frog Dart Frog 48, a New Zealand dunkel rye weizen it says here.

    Meh.

Well drinking this beer gas become a trial so it's headed for the sink.
Same happened to the Pandamonium West Coast IPA.
I can see some potential for these beers in cocktails mixed with Mordue draft beers.

Tried the Calley/some american brewery black IPA form 'spoons today - bit shit, no surprise from calley
Also Skye Black - so-so black ale with oats and honey.
Williams bros birds and bees - so so again on cask
Bitter and twisted - I've had enough of this to know it's solid enough but this one said it was a "limited edition celia hopped" one. So I assume they ran out of their usual hops then? I tried it and it was a nice play on the normal B&T. Good beer to start the day on at least.

Can of SlyFox's Route 113 IPA

Woo-Hoo! salted caramel aroma & that on the start, intense bitterness followed by extreme pleasure.

I was going to post '113 IBU should that impress me' but the beer has answered that

    Sounds good

I also had a pint of Broadside earlier in the day - it was slightly off, very funky aroma and a tart start and finish. However I drunk the whole thing and rather enjoyed it, I was thinking how a sour loving BA'er would love that sort of thing if it was sold to them as a sour. It had pretty much everything, caramel sweetness, noticeable but not excessive bitterness to go along with the off flavours.

Just cleared out a Belgian webshop of their Oakham Citra. It was only cheap at 4 euros for the pint. That's in the lower 3 quid region, not too bad considering postage is ridiculously low after ordering.

Was your purchase in any way influenced by Citra coming in 2nd place in the GBBF champion beer of Britain contest?
Just wondering how much impact the champ beer placings had on consumers choices.

well I'm just back from the shops and my pockets are literally stuffed
with old receipts and toffee wrappers

    any hoo
cracked open the 2nd Tesco Finest(Marton's) Pilsner
this time not ice cold but cool
A little like Jever, but with a little more bitterness & all round taste
but at £4.25 for 2 times 660ml bottles is it worth it?
