Did you go to the brewery opening on the 22nd?
They did say they would later this year!
That's strange, it was only officially launched over here at the end of last year and the importers claimed 12 months shelf life.
Just checked a sample bottle and it's in the Julian Format, "1952SP" so that's June also, however I have found a website stating that the date on the neck of the bottle is the bottling date, the labels have been made for the UK market so maybe they messed with the wording.
I tried the whole range a few weeks back, did not see a need to stock it.
It was on the label/near the bottom of the bottle and it said "june '12", but maybe that's the bottling date too
No I didn't, good job too - they were turning people away so many turned up. I've applied for a job with them though...dear god I hope I get it.
Yeah I saw that, I probably would have tried myself if I wasn't at uni. Good luck mate.
Tatton Best then bed methinks
Wincle Wibbly Wallaby & pizza
Pepperoni & Pale Ale one of my fave flavour combinations
I liked your post but I hate pepperoni.
This is pretty cool. I know where I'll hopefully be on May 4th.
King & Barnes Christmas Ale 1995.
Awsome how was it?
My consumption so far this week stands at...
Marstons Owd Roger
Marstons Strong Pale Ale
Shep Neame Bishops Finger
oh and bottle of Becks Blue last night because I thought I should have a night off
Oh dear lord
Oh the irony
Bloody Saturday MTB events !!!
Busy on saturdays? It's great for me, hopefully it means this and kernel on the same day!
Had a Punk IPA last night from the new BD brewery in Ellon. Smelled great & was as pale as the old Punk but absolutely thin & hollow. Either BrewDog have given up trying to brew decent beer or they just don't care anymore.
I guess like lots of other things one they've got the name all they have to do is put their name on something and all the hipsters will come and buy it and discuss how cultured they are drinking something hand crafted and different.
Hopefully the others won't be affected as badly though. Fingers crossed for more Hops Kill?!
That's just the thing. They can produce some great stuff but its a crap shoot as to the quality of what you're forking out for. Trashy Blonde was once nicely bitter. Now its sweet. Hardcore seems to lack that hop attack lately. Even Alice Porter can be variable though far more rarely than the any which way the wind blows Punk.
Not neccessarily busy ... it's something you may experience in the future James.
When you spend 2 and a half to 3 hours commuting in and out of London every day the last thing you want to do on a Saturday is ...
Mm..are you asking me?
Ah fair enough. Though tbh I assumed you did live in London! Not sure why particularly though.
They've only just got their new brewery going haven't they?
I'd hope that they can get a bit more consistent with it.
I live 6 or 7 miles further west than your folks live to the east.
Makes so much sense now, considering your ratebeer name!
Also, directed at anyone, IndyManBeerCon. Worth going?
Yes, I've yet to try any aged beer myself
Not much in the way of beer left here
well there is but it is being left to age
I still can't get my head around this
If it needs time in the bottle why doesn't it stay at the brewery for a couple of years
I have McMullen's Hertford Castle and a sore throat.
Still at work, I have to hit the off license when I leave, for a belgian or 2 to bring home.
You want to hit Belgians?
Nope, just enjoy their beer
Nah - I live totally to the west, over half way to Reading, about 45 miles from TB !
Missus is out - night in with the hound.
He had the first taste (well - finger dipped in) of Bourbon County Coffee Stout 2011.
Not the best coffee Imperial Stout I've had but pretty decent - halfway through now and still enjoying it !
tried a couple of beers from Cerveza Kettal that the brewery were kind enough to send me. El Trillo was a nice quenching light ale whilst El Alambique is a full bodied Red ale. two more to try.
Opened a Brupond Aincho Mum's Porter.
Went fucking everywhere.
It could have happened to a better beer - so don't cry over spilt average beer !
I hasten to add - I didn't think AMP was a bad beer - just average!
Very true but it means I now have to actually clean part of my flat.
Judging by the reviews, average seems to sum up the beers I got from St. Pancras - that, Brupod Tip Top Hop, Crate IPA, Hobo lager
Well - you can either take note of other folks reviews or ignore them. I tend to settle on the middle ground.
The Crate stuff I've had has been ok - just average.
When confrontef by Kernel and Partizan at SM - you can't do wrong tbh!
Oh damn, I hope they have partizan stuff when I'm there next, dying to try that stuff! They only had 1 Kernel though, about 30 bottles of nearly past the BBD IPA Citra.
Always have to look British stuff up on ratebeer though just to check i'm adding it right, as the BA database knows as much about UK brewers as my 2 year old cousin!
That's why I gave up rating beers on this site!!!
As for Kernel - unless it's 7 days fresh - why bother
It was good. Oxidized as I expected, some mild port like flavour. This is my second time drinking it; the first time, I think it was better taken care of because the port flavour in it was stronger and masked more of the oxidation. That being said....I'd try it again.
