You only have to look at this (posted in the English Mild thread) to see how worthless cicerone certification is.

Yeah it has me dismayed for sure! I have other resource regarding Mild in a more descriptive history. So I wonder what went wrong here?

Had a pint and a half of Mantle Dark Heart stout (delicious) at the royal oak in Saundersfoot today, followed by a pint of Sharps Atlantic down the beach and through the cliffs (yes, there's a tunnel) in the Wiseman's Bridge Inn. £3 per pint for the dark heart and £3.20 for the sharps wasn't bad at all. Lovely weather for a day by the seaside too.

I am in wales and have got completely trousered

Not much to drink where I am, although there's a bunch of pubs close together - they are almost all empty apart from a few geezers, it's a bit sad to see really. Friday night and term time in a (small) college town

Have drunk a lot of the Rev James, far too sweet for me really but was in good nick

Green King Black IPA - probably the beer of the night, heading to out of condition though so didn't really want another.

Worthingtons smooth flow. hmm, creamy, cold, bland.

drinking bottles of Marstons pedigree as it was the best on offer other than hobgoblin in the only shop open at 9.

I think the bottled pedigree is more snatchy than the pints I've had before, not saying much though

I know there is a bar across from my inn that sells celt beers but I can't be bothered going across

I assume everyone here appreciates a good bit of snatch, even if you don't personally enjoy it?

Ooh, I'm going to have to pass that off as my own one day. Can we make it a regular expression on here?

It's worth it, Celt beers have been great since the revamp a year or 2 ago. Even loved their bottled bitter.

    Rodenbach Grand Cru
    Arbor Yakima Valley
    Affligem Dubbel
    Sadlers Mud City Stout

The Cru an easy drinking sour beer that had the smell of scrumpy to me, altho many liken it to cherries. That's what livin in the West does.

I'd drunk there last year, had a couple of of their bottled beers and they were indeed very good. Didn't manage any this trip as last night I was at a birthday party where the best draught was brains smooth, the rest was foster/budweiser/peroni/john smiths. The brains was actualy ok once it had warmed up a bit, must have been a very fresh keg I think

I feel like drinkin' tonight, like drinkin' tonight. Macallan Gold, 2012 Bourbon Country, 2010 Struise Pannepeut.

This Pannepeut is like red wine, amazing stuff.

After feeling terrible since Sunday evening (so not been able to purchase any beer since then)
Having to make do with what's in which is
    Wychwood's Halloween replacement for Pumpking,
Which barely tasted of pumpkin on cask
& tasted of nothing bottled, Dunkel Fester.
Sadly Michigan & New Jersey brewers
    got to the name first.
This actually has plenty of treacle flavour
Or is it the influence of the fabulous glass it's poured into?

Dunkel Fester is £1.25 in Aldi & IMHO much better than Pumpking

Back from a fabulous long weekend in Gdansk and thoroughly enjoyed...every single beer.

Browar Piwna - American Brown Ale,
    Browar Piwna - IPA,
    Browar Piwna - Hefeweisse,
    Brovarnia - Dark beer,
    Robust - Porter,
    Enigma - IPA,
    Circhan - AIPA,
    Uncommon - Saison,
    Rauch - Alt (bottle),
    Hajer - Amber,
    Trojmiejsti - Oatmeal Stout,
    Troijmiejsti - Red Ale,
    Warka - Strong Ale,
Ksaizece - Dark Ale (probably both liked this beer best),
Tyskie, better on draught there than bottles/cans here,
Specjial, only had one bottle of this on a boat trip, really liked it but couldn't find it elsewhere.
