I'm comatose on the couch right now but if I manage to blow off this Szechuan overdose I'll be tucking into a Cocoa Psycho in the coming hours.

OK, kicked off the weekend with Broughton's Merlin's Ale, followed by a Berliner Kindl Weiss and am now on Spring + Tijm from 7 Deugden. This last one is a bit odd; it has thyme in it.....

I've got one of these as well - been quite looking forward to trying it. But I like the tartness of rhubarb. Hope it turns out better than you've described it!

I've got one of these as well. Is it any good?

    extremely cinnamon -ey
    I half enjoyed it
Very sweet, to the point where I suspect artificial sweetener may be involved
which I presume would negate ageing
which I presume would take the sweet edge off

I've had Buxton Imperial Black (superb) and Porterhouse Hop Head (past its best) so far. Also got a parade of Partizans - 2 Saisons (Grisette and Big Red), 1 Pale Ale (Wakatu) and 1 IPA (Cascade Chinook Columbus) lined up.

    Finally sunk BrewDog Cocoa Psycho.
Fancies itself as Frank ('Pabst Blue Rib-bon!') Booth but in reality ends up being as threatening as Patrick Bateman.

For tonight I've got a 3 week old Kernel Cascade pale ale bought at the brewery this afternoon. Had their latest go at a saison on keg (Biere de Table) while I was down there. Tasting much better than previous versions which I thought were below their usual high standards.

Also bought half a dozen other recent ones which are supposed to be getting sent to New York this week. Hopefully I have enough will power not to tear into them. The new Mosaic IPA is looking very tempting.

Come to think of it I have two Ommegangs in the fridge. Hennepin and Rare Vos.

The Kernels might have a lucky escape after all.

I don't particularly hate her but it's still a good day to make jokes about her, and remind everybody of the classic frankie boyle joke, where he says that for the cost of a state funeral you could buy everyone in Scotland a shovel, and they would dig a hole so deep they could hand her over to satan personally.

Partizan Saison Grisette and Nils Oscar Coffee Stout.

    Now onto homebrewed ginger wine.

I made this with beer yeast, as the packet wine yeast I had was ripped when I went to use it, so I used Belgian beer yeast. It should have finished at 14% but the yeast died off at 11% so it's a bit sweet. Would make a great dessert wine. By great I mean in the homebrew sense, I doubt the world known ch√Ęteaus of France are quaking in their boots :D
