Bank Holiday weekend so loud RAWK music and ale is in order
    Staring with Boggarts Ruby Tuesday
no surprise that it is a red ale, claims to be hoppy and sessionable (it is 3.9%)
was pleasantly surprised at how it poured with the bottle conditioning

Oh well it at least tastes like beer
and will just about wash down this hot pork sandwich
and clear the palate for a decent ale.

Started with William Bros' Prodigal Sun, and am now sampling the Duvel Tripel Hop 2013. It's rather nice....

That's a pity. Also, have you morphed into an alien?

Tasting of largely insanely potent UK beers (BD Abstrakts-and others, Bracias, Magic Rock etc etc etc etc) tomorrow night. Will try to provide an update as it progresses but no guarantees that I'll be in a state to push buttons.

Uh. No beer but 4 Scrumpy Jacks with Tesco Value Wine (both red and white, a carton of each) does not make you feel well in the morning. I think it's basically the same as if i'd drank half a litre of vinegar with my cider.

pint of Three B's Knocker Up Porter and
    Peerless' Red Rock
everyone went on to Yate's so I went home with the goodies from a spec beer shop

Up and ready for action after last night's festivities.
    Top of the tasting was:

    Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout
    BrewDog/Stone Bashah Reserve-Imperial
Westy 12 (last minute entry which I saw as a sort of control/ palate re-calibration exercise)
    BrewDog Abstrakt AB: 04
    BrewDog Dog A
    Thornbridge Bracia

There were about another 20 beers, many BrewDogs (eg.AB:01-03, 05&06), which weren't really up to scratch. But the six above were all very sexy indeed.

Three cheers for Bevis and his merry wench! (Wench here used in the jolly medieval fishwife context)

    Brass Castle's Vanilla Porter

Just had Brains Craft Brewery Bragging Rights. It's got a very ginger/clove heavy scent, but it's rather mild in the mouth. Tiny hint of ginger in the aftertaste, but other than that it's pretty generically "beery"

Stopped by whole foods and got a

Duchesse de Bourgogne, Little creatures pale ale, inveralmond blackfriar and a bottle of hurricane jack.

LC pale ale was decent, it was lacking a bit of hop aroma and flavour I guess it would be a fair bit better closer to source

hurrican jack is solid as always

I'll save the other two for the end of the week, got some curried lamb chops on the go and I think I've got enough spice to destroy any beer so some tennents might accompany it :)

Probably a Berliner Kindle Weiss in a sec or two as I watch Paxo. I could do with a quenching experience.
