I like to get an idea of what breweries are up and coming in the area so I can pay a visit when they open the taps up.
There are a bunch of "breweries in planning" so let's keep it to breweries that have made the financial commitment and either rented a space, in construction phase, or have opened in the last 4 months.

This brewery inspired the thread; I was unaware of it until the recent thread.

This ones actually right down the street from my work in Camarillo, I saw it on beerpulse last week...
They have started construction on the unit.

This one also is in the construction phase in Van Nuys, looks like they're gonna be all cask, I'm super stoked about that!

Please add any others that you know of...

^^^basically what I was going to say. I think Smog City is really going to take off. Monkish is doing quite well also. 30 accounts in one year? That's pretty impressive

I love the idea of an all-cask brewpub in the same city as a huge AB production brewery. Contrast!

Institution Ales is the doing of a member of the Wade's Wines family in Agoura Hills. I believe one of their taproom employees is branching and starting his own venture.

Big love for Wade's Wines. And to think, it feels like just yesterday we were all huddled into that room inside to the left on tasting nights.

Claremont Craft Ales is making great beer. Not exactly LA, but not too far.

I'm not a huge sour fan, but I know a bunch of you will geek out on a sour/brett brewery like this,
Phestival Barrel House, it's gonna be in Moorpark.
They're doing the Rare Barrel type of business model; having their wort brewed at one of the local breweries, then fermenting, barreling and souring in house.

I just listened to an interview with them on the hopheadsaid podcast.
