Just wondering if this is a complete wasteland for a decently priced bottle shop or place to grab a good beer. Ironically, going for the World Series of Beer Pong, but would love to find a couple good brews I can't get out here in Pennsylvania while I'm out there from 1/1-1/6. Thanks.

Frog something or other has a few taps and over 1000 bottles (think you have to drink them there though), definetely worth going to, if just for going into their walk-in fridge when drunk.

Search postings from Destral. He's THE Vegas BA expert. Usually it comes down to where you are and where you can go. I can help you a little on the strip but off it I'm mostly worthless.

Thanks for the tips. Wouldn't want to miss out on anything really worthwhile. I'll be at the Flamingo for the tournament and staying there, so I'll probably be spending my time on or around the strip.

On the strip near the Flamingo, you're not too far from Holstein's in the Cosmo. They have a pretty good bottle and tap list although prices are pretty high for most things. The Pub in Monte Carlo and Todd English's P.U.B. in the Aria are similarly nice, but expensive. There's a Sin City Brewing tap room in Planet Hollywood and another in the Venetian. The best spot on the strip (in my opinion) is Burger Bar, but it's all the way down in Mandalay Bay. A small bar upstairs in NYNY called Pour 24 has a good selection, although (again) prices are steep.
The Freakin' Frog is over by UNLV and has a shit ton of options, but is either a cab ride or long walk.
The Hofbrauhaus has 100% real German beers, although it's also a bit out of the way down near the Hard Rock.
The locals love Aces & Ales, but I had a horrendous experience there and a hefty cab fare to go with it, so you might want to make friends with some Vegas BA's to make sure that's a worthwhile trip.
I guess there's a pretty good brewpub downtown, but I've never been.
Finally, while you might have your fill of yellow fizzy beer, you can get $1 Michelob bottles at the Casino Royale with no limit. Mich is all malt now, so it's essentially a "crafty" lager.
