The darkest day of the year is returning on Sunday, 12/20, and we will be celebrating at all of our San Diego locations starting at 9am.

Tickets will be $30 at the door and will include:

    • Five 4oz tasters
    • Limited edition V@S goblet
    • 22oz of our 2014 limited edition coffee-only Victory at Sea to enjoy at home
We are looking forward to over 20 varieties of Victory at Sea including Peanut Butter Cup, Nitro, Victory at Cereal, Bread Pudding, Coconut & Oreo Cookie. We will also have our 2015 limited edition V@S hoodies and food specials coming from our kitchens at Little Italy and Miramar.

Haven't been able to make an on location one yet, only been able to try the variants up in NorCal. Quick question, after your 5 tasters can you purchase them on an individual basis? Looking forward to the PB and Oreo myself..

If they do the same thing as last year and previous, yes you can buy more tasters after your 5 run out, you just go on a taster-by-taster basis then.

Much appreciated. Nice that they are doing this at all 4 locations. These next two sundays are good to us that are downtown and don't want to drive too far (not so much for mondays)

They usually have a location specific variant which is fun to see. Also I know last year they were doing growlers the next day of whatever was left on tap, so if you really liked one in particular there may be a chance to take home a growler of it the following day.

Not a bad way to kick the hangover from the day before

Had the Bread Pudding treatment before. Delicious! Have had friends drive down before and they said it's definitely worth the trip with all the varirues of VaS.

Did it last year at the Miramar location with a group of friends. I felt like some of the variants were a miss, but most were good and interesting to try. Will probably go again this year.

the new location is typically always packed to the breaking point, I really want to do the variants, but can't justify the madness that will come with it.

Pretty cool that other locations will also be having this event. Not exactly the same line up but variants as well.

Last year I believe there was a four roses bourbon, rye whisky, and rum variants.

So yes, it can make an appearance but really they tend to not release the list until a day prior or even day of when you walk through the door.

Thanks for the response! Sorry if i'm just bombarding you with questions, but I was wondering how long the beers usually last, probably won't make it out there till around 5 that day?

Anyone go to the LI location last year? Curious about crowds throughout the day

I was at the Miramar location and I think only 1 of the 20+ variants kicked by about 3pm. Couldn't tell you what it was though since I was there from 10am - 7pm and then somehow I got home. Most of them were still flowing by the time I left. Other locations might not have been as busy, thus why I mentioned they were doing growlers the day after because of their supply.

But of course that was 2014, and now, you know... 2015ers be 2015'ing.

Miramar & Scripps Ranch ran out of glasses pretty quickly last year so we headed to Homebrew Mart which still had a ton. I liked that they let you take home growlers of certain variants (though, sadly not 4Roses VaS).

On a friday or saturday night its absolutely slammed. A lot of people in the area with not many beer options that serve food. As far as day time goes, it seems to be a little easier but their peak times are really busy

    Da fuq?
Why would they hold onto these for a year?
Coffee version was good last year, but that was last year.
I remembered they were only selling them by the case, they could of gotten rid of all of them if they sold them in singles.

For reals. I bought one of those cases and split it with my friends. That beer did not age well. Fresh it's amazing, but it just doesn't hold up.

They're doing this event at Iron Press as well on 12-20. Not sure if tap list will be the same though.

From the looks of it, both Iron Press and Naja's are having 4 variants each. Are the extra 16 variants worth the 2 hour drive? Lol

tap list at iron press i take it? if so, why are they hosting an event that doesn't pertain to them? odd it is, yet i can understand if it occurred during beer week (if anaheim even holds one)

That's the taplist for V@S Day, not Iron Press. IP will have 4 variants.

Does anyone know if everyone has to pay the $30 to get in, or can you also enter for free to pay as you go, or just to eat?

@redmagik99 if past years are any indication, yes, you can get in just to dine, etc. It will be packed with ppl there specifically for V@S day though.

It's a means of getting rid of inventory. If I wanted any, I'd just go buy a case at Miramar where they've been sitting for sale for a year now.

Sunset Beer Co. is also tapping Victory at Sea. Looks like it will be regular, Peanut Butter, Peppermint, and Toasted Coconut. I believe these are the same variants as the other locations doing these tap takeovers.

Yup. You may have to wait until they normally open though. I know last year we got in an hour before actual opening and it was only those with the tickets.

We had "V@S Day" here in Hawai'i on Saturday. Well, it was on the small scale and had 3 variants (coconut, peppermint, and peanut butter) at 1 bar. Other bars are tapping theirs on Sunday.
