My wife and I will be in the area for a few days in June. I'm about to start looking for a nice brewery hotel in that area, but I thought Id' see if anyone here had any experience with that area first. Thanks
That is Rothaus country. The other major brewery around there is Fürstenberg, and Waldhaus is also well regarded. Also leave some room for the excellent local wine and fruit brandies.
I looked quickly and there are a few breweries in the area. You could always look on https://braugasthoefe.de/ for a brewery hotel to visit on the way there, but I didn't see one in the Villengen-Schwenningen. The closest one I saw was in Tübingen.
Not a hotel recommendation, but in regards to beer I highly endorse just about every beer from Alpirsbacher. It's somewhat uber-regional but if you find fresh Gutmann hefeweizen at a local Getraenkemarkt, it's one of the best.
