I'll be in Minneapolis August 20-21 and plan to fly back to MD with beer I can't get here - thank you Southwest for free checked bags! Which Surly beers can I reasonably expect to find in liquor stores? Specifically, I know I'll be hitting Chicago Lake Liquors which is down the street from my hotel.

I will be going to the Surly brew hall on Saturday night. If I don't find what I'm looking for at liquor stores, will there be more cans for sale there?

Also, which beers from other breweries should I be on the lookout for? One beer I'm definitely hoping to find is Summit's 30th Anniversary Keller Pils.

Thanks in advance for any input or tips!

They made a fair amount of the Keller Pils, but it has sold quickly (my buddies and I are each on our third case. :stuck_out_tongue: ), so you may want to arrange an in-person trade, just in case it is gone from local stockists by then.

Surly can be found in any place that sells beer, here's what you'll find:

    Cans - Year Round
    Furious
    Bender
    Hell
    Cynic
    Coffee Bender

    Cans - Seasonal
    #Merica
    Overrated
    Todd the Axe Man

    Bombers
    Pentagram
Ten (you'll have to hunt for this)

@sembo's link under the Basic Resources section will answer your questions about Surly itself.

OP, by the time you get here, #Merica will probably have been mostly replaced by Xtra Citra, which is already hitting shelves.

No, Surly isn't allowed to sell for off premise consumption from their brewery due to their size.

I thought Xtra Citra was a Spring seasonal? Are they bringing it back for late Summer??

I live "up north" and there are 07/07 cans in the cooler right now in my local store.

Interesting! Will gladly take that over #Merica.

Picked up a 4 pack yesterday. I think it came out a little bit better than the previous run. A little more flavor, some great aroma. This is a really solid summer beer.

If you look around, you can probably find some Nein and Smoke bombers (maybe even Eight, 1349, Brett Mikkels, etc.) still kicking around at less frequented liquor stores. Plus expensive 5+ month old 4-packs of Blakkr for you you use your judgement on (I know this beer is divisive, but I do think it's good when fresh).
