If I am storing a Firestone Reserve Porter at room temp, how long should I refrigerate it or put it in the freezer before serving?

Whatever temperature you generally prefer drinking your porters at.

I usually pull mine out of the fridge and leave it out for about 15-20 mins before opening and pouring.

Agree here. I prefer Porters at about 45-50 degrees

I don't know how you all have the patience to allow an open beer to remain untouched. Once I open a beer I have to drink it. I might drink it slowly and allow it to warm up, but I just don't have the willpower to open and wait.

I usually have another beer in my glass when I take it out. :-)

I don't mind drinking a Porter at cellar temp at all. That is probably the temp for peak flavor.

i would put it in the fridge 30-45 minutes before drinking. i like that beer a lot especially good on a warm summer night chilled.

I also put it in the fridge for about 45 minutes to an hour. I waited about 10 minutes before
drinking, allowing the bottle to warm up. Excellent beer at a warmer temp.

had a couple of Walker Reserves - am i missing something? i found both to be rather pedestrian. not subpar but not anything i'd hurt anybody trying to score more.

It's not in the same class as Parabola. Nevertheless, it's worth drinking at a warmer temp 50-55 F. Refrigerate it for 45 minutes and let it warm up for 10. But there are so many other beers to try, so I wouldn't put it on your high score list:slight_smile: I did find it in Trader Joes for $5.29- a good price.

Parabola is 16+ on the East coast. Alesmith beers are also tres expensive on the east coast. I paid
17 for the Scotch ale. Speedway Stout is in the same price range.
