Cincinnati, OH (November 2012) Pop culture meets one of the United States’ favorite imported beers November 11th in Frankfort, Germany when the top acts of the international music scene gather for the 19th edition of the MTV European Music Awards. Premium German beer Warsteiner is not only the official exclusive supplier of beer to the globally televised awards’ ceremony, but the partnership is being celebrated in an extraordinary way -- Warsteiner has created a one-off special pilsner aluminum bottle covered completely in gold.

This striking and distinctive golden aluminum bottle -- certain to be an immediate collectors’ item -- was exclusively produced in limited edition and is only available at this year’s music event held at the Frankfurter Festhalle. The special edition gold bottle celebrates Warsteiner’s further engagement in the international music scene. The award’s ceremony fits perfectly with Warsteiner’s other famous music happenings, such as the Rock am Ring and MELT festivals. With performances by international stars like Lady Gaga and Queen, the MTV European Music Awards has become a global phenomenon.

The tradition of innovative “Special Edition” is well-known territory for Warsteiner: When Nike released its new sneaker Nike Air Yeezy II, Warsteiner treated the fans who were patiently waiting in front of the stores in Cologne and Berlin to a limited edition beer can in Air Yeezy II style. Most recently, Warsteiner supported the newcomer band Odd Future at Colette, the famous Parisian concept store.

“We are proud to be partnering with this great international music event,” says Ulrich Kunert, Marketing Manager International for Warsteiner. “Our golden special edition bottle fits perfectly to the event and shows our flair for the extraordinary. All Warsteiner brand activities, including its long history of international sponsorships and partnerships in the sporting, cultural and culinary worlds, are under the umbrella of modern class. With the “golden bottle” Warsteiner continues its successful engagements and will certainly garner attention at the MTV EMA in Frankfurt in front of and behind the stage.”

This past summer, Warsteiner was the official supplier of beer to The PGA European Tour, further strengthening the brand’s international growth and communication strategy and its intrinsic values of quality and heritage.

Family-owned Warsteiner has been brewing pilsners since 1753, when Antonius Cramer first produced beer at his modest home brewery in Germany. Since then, nine generations of Cramers have built Warsteiner into the No 1 imported premium pilsner among Germany’s private breweries. Warsteiner is sold in more than 60 countries, including the US, UK, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Canada and Ukraine and enjoys a series of licensing and distribution partnerships with major brewers such as Carlsberg, Castel, Efes, Mahou San Miguel and SAB Miller.

Warsteiner is imported into the U.S. by Warsteiner Importers Agency, Inc. in West Chester, Ohio. www.warsteiner-usa.com
