Welcome to Lager Fest in Cyberspace (2021)!

Greetings!

First, for those who don't know me, I'm Todd Alström, Founder of BeerAdvocate. I'm also hosting Lager Fest in Cyberspace (our third virtual beer fest) along with a special guest, participating brewer, and my good friend Edgar Preciado, @BEERTHUGLIFE.

Second, thanks for your support and welcome to the fest forum! Here we'll post updates, discussion threads, recordings of both sessions, and other fest content. If you get lost, you can find this forum under "Lager Fest" main site navigation or on the main Forums page.

Tasting Order, Live Streams, and Recordings
Also new for this fest, there's a thread for each session that includes: the live stream, tasting order with times, and links to brewery "booth" threads to learn more and ask questions for our guests. You'll also use these threads to access post-fest recordings for those of you who can't join us live.

• Clear your schedule for August 20 and 21, 2021 (5-8 p.m. PDT both days) and join the discussions in this forum between now and then. Can't join us for the live streams? We'll be recording and posting them so you can view them at your leisure.
  
• Rejoice when your box arrives, but don't drink the beers yet!
• Start thinking about which pajamas you're going to wear during the fest.

I wouldn't mind doing more these now and then, but the demand for virtual events is definitely waning right now.

Depends on the fest, and I haven't seen final numbers on this one yet, but we're hoping to hit 1,500 for Lager Fest.

 

Stoked that we're your first time. Extreme and IPA were a lot of fun. Between the pre- and post-hangouts, and now Discord (real time chat), I'm positive that Lager Fest will be a lot of fun too.

As per the FAQ: "Like any retail or ticketed opportunity, prices are subject to change based on demand, promotions, and inventory surpluses."

And from other fest thread and on Discord: "We planned Lager Fest during lockdown, but as things are shifting back to in-person activities people are quickly losing interest in virtual events. Bad timing, but we'll still have a great turnout! This is just a final push before sales end."

Welcome! Thanks for joining BeerAdvocate, and for signing up for Lager Fest in Cyberspace! And agreed. Generally speaking, craft beer has been lager's worst enemy.

 

From the fest page: “Two BeerAdvocate-branded Govino tasting cups (our standard fest cup to make you feel nostalgic for our in-person fests)”

We clearly list what’s included in the package, and adding a cheap glass would’ve been a cheap gesture. But every time I sip a beer from a Govino cup it takes me back to our in-person fests (the point).
