Hello! All sync'd & ready to go. 2nd online Beerfest, tbh I really like this format personally!

 

Received my allotment today, all beers in excellent shape, and noted the warning to save the beer until the fest.

I am taking that warning under advisement.

 

Seriously...

Every time I open my fridge I get super excited, then immediately disappointed because I can't drink them yet.

"Wow, Dovetail in my fridge! Oh, and STS Pils!!! And Urban Chestnut Stammtisch!!!"

"Fuck, it's August 2nd."

 

I had the same happen with mine. I just sent Half Time an email asking if I can get the replacement beer.

 

Ahhh, but we (Massachusetts folk) can sneak taste the Von trap, Jacks Abby, and maybe the Schilling beers now and still find a replacement single before the fest… or, you know, just go to Notch to hold us over.

 

So so true.

I was just at Notch this past Sunday, and I’ll likely go once or twice more before the festival…because, lager is life.

I also have a couple four packs of Notch in the fridge too…

 

I just received my box and no Urban Chestnut in it

 

That stinks. Try contacting @HalfTime as people seem to have had good results with corrections for previous fest shipping mishaps. (See the IPA fest thread for examples if that’s still around)

 

Regarding being synced, I signed up with Discord and have access to the BArmy server at this point. If that means I'm synced then I guess I'm good to go.

 

Has anyone from New York received their box yet? I haven't heard from Half Time, don't want to jump the gun, but seem quite a few people posting they got their box now.

 

Also have to chime in that it would be great to have more of these in the future. Also have a disability and while brewfests are managable as I still have limited mobility, it's really nice to have it at home and attend the panels online.

 

My Lager Fest order arrived yesterday!

I received a Dovetail Baltic Porter and NOT the Dovetail Helles? Isn't this Lager Fest?

I just got off the phone with Half Time (both locations) and it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!!!

 

I'm being told from Half Time that porter is considered a lager!!!

 

OOPS! MY BAD ... in more ways that one! Guess I'll be drinking a Porter then! Thanx Todd! Cheers!!

From a friend of mine who's a local Biermeister re: Porter's and Baltic Porters ...

Big difference between the two styles. A Baltic is closer to a hybrid depending upon whether lager or ale yeast is used. In Russia, lager yeast is required, but some versions use ale yeast and lower temperatures. BREW!!!

That being the case, how does Dovetail brew their Baltic Porter?

I just got my access code and have been reading about those who have already received their beers. My beer is still in transit! I'm on the west coast, plus several (as in a half dozen) hours by car from the nearest major metropolitan area, so it's not unexpected that I'll be one of the last ones to receive my beers from New York! I'll bet those in Alaska and Hawaii have their beers, first! Assuming they can receive shipped beer. I'll let you all know when mine arrive!

Virtual EBF was recorded so you could watch it afterwards. Maybe you could watch it on Saturday morning and have those 6 beers before the session on Saturday starts.

But I also responded and looked at this quickly and realized I’m a moron. That’s 8-11 my time, which is PERFECT.

Going to share the beers with someone each night too…it’s never a bad time to get someone else into lagers….ever.

Our beer arrived and all accounted for. The plastic glasses were just so so, glad I ordered a couple of TEKU beer glasses, they have arrived so we are ready for the tasting to begin

 

My fiance and I are all geared up for this and are super excited. This is our first online event through Beer Advocate, and we can't wait to start cracking open these beers.
Does anyone know when we are going to get the email with directions on how to log in and stream the event?

 

Box o beer arrived yesterday. I am, as the kids don't say, tickled to dive in friday evening.

 

Keeping this curated collection of fresh, high quality lagers unopened for the last three weeks has been an exercise in patience seldom seen. Bravo to lagerfest attendees who managed to keep themselves contained. Cannot wait!

 

Looking forward to this virtual beer fest! Looks like a lot of great offerings! Now I’m wishing that I didn’t pass on the first two.
One question though… If we’re not able to make one or both of the sessions, will there be a link to watch them?
