Unbarelled Ivan The Terrible.
Holy cow! That is the mother load! =)
HAHAHAHAHAAAA! I'm a chick and a vegan! That day's not for me at all!
However, I'll certainly drink a stout today. I likely would have gone with something else, since it's still summer weather here in sunny LaLaLand, but in honor of stout day I think I'll go with this lovely:
Well, I never knew...
I have several options to choose from:
Woodcut No. 7
Ska's Molé Stout
And a few other stout odds and ends...
But I believe I'll open a bomber from my favorite local brew pub, Phantom Canyon, and enjoy a Snowblind RIS...
Prairie Bomb! Local growler store got small keg in this week. Was lucky to visit at right time....great stuff!
It's a work night so my wife and i will have a couple Bell's Special Double Cream Stouts. Love that one!
'14 Black Note
I decided to start with an IBB.
So the local Norfolk breweries have gone completely apesh!t today.
Smartmouth has a barrel aged imperial stout today, Velvet Glove.
O'Connor have a Peanut Butter Stout, a PB+J Stout (unsure how the J comes about), And a Mexican Coffee Stout.
I got a growler of the Velvet Glove... but the Mexican coffee stout might deserve a try this weekend.
So I took a trip Way Out West...
and this followed me home.
Shall I keep it?
considering I'm sick and can't taste much, Yuengling Premium. Cheap beer for me!!
cool didn't even know it was and oddly enough I just poured myself a glass of a brand new stout that I found today that I had never seen or heard of before called "bb stout" by Bull Falls Brewery out of Wausau WI. Its the first ever bourbon Oatmeal stout I've ever had. it's beer # 996 for me, getting close to the 1000 mark. I rated it only a 3 btw...not great but not bad.
FBS (of course) and Mothers Winter Grind.
Choklat. Just opened a bomber.
Does this work? I don't know.
Just finished my first SN Coffee Stout. Excellent! Now for a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout I've been saving for a special occasion(such as International Stout Day).
the 2013 boulevard was veeery nice.
Crown Valley Pumpkin Smash.
FBS, Stone IRS and topping the night with Yeti!
a 2013 and a 2014 Founders Breakfast Stout. I actually preferred the 2013. Gonna save my last 2 '14s for another year and see if they agree! Off to see Interstellar, bit@#&s! lol. Happy International Stout Day!!!
On deck....13 month old Ten Fidy....just as soon as I finish this BCBS....I like National Stout Day!!
Sierra Nevada Coffee Stout for me. It's a weekday so I'm taking it easy.
'13 founders breakfast stout
plus I had one Backwoods Bastard, simply because I just scored a pack
Goose Island The Muddy - pretty solid imp. stout, though you can't really taste the anise. Reminds me of Green Flash Double Stout (good thing).
Going to open my first Bell's Expedition Stout right now and eat some left over cake
Bible belt is righteous!
I have some NorthRiver Stout to drink up tonight along with a bottle or two of:
Had my first Courage RIS last night, tonight I'm on team FBS.
Drinking 2013 BCBS in anticipation of 2014 BCBS coming out in a few weeks.
Fubark Imperial Stout 2013, an oak-aged stout brewed with star anise. Not as wretched as when I drank it back in March or so...must have been the combination of hops and oak that threw me off. Still a bit too harsh to warrant a repeat purchase, as far as I'm concerned. A shame, really enjoyed their Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.
Earlier I had Bourbon County Barleywine 2013, draft. It's aged in stout-bourbon barrels, so I figured it almost counts.
I feel like Thirsty Dog is a very underrated brewery.
Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XVI. Founders Breakfast Stout.
Started with an Old Raspy, which was excellent, of course. Finished with a 2012 DFH World Wide Stout, which was phenomenal.
