Fun idea for a thread, but it makes me realize how many beers I need to revisit and re-rate. My ratings were so much higher when I started on this site. I've been updating some beer ratings along the way, but I have a lot more to do.

Only 5 of my top 10 beer ratings on here would probably still hold true for me today, and they are:

    1. Cantillon Fou' Foune
    2. Founders CBS

Apparently I am not the only one looking at their list and wondering how the hell I rated them in that order. There are more than a few I would not have figured were in my top ten. I had #2 and #7 in the past few days, and based on that I would not put them in my top 20. Plenty of others that should be top 10, such as Pirate Noir, Péché Mortel, and Rochefort 10. I guess my ratings vary wildly day-to-day and/or my tastes have changed.

i see a ton of foreign beers which is interesting but they just aren't my style. call me biased but I strongly prefer bitter ales and local beers hit the spot, maybe because they're better or maybe because a fresh growler tastes better than a bottle.

In the interests of full disclosure though, this isn't really an accurate representation of my highest rated beers since while I had a period where I was rating and reviewing on Beer Advocate I didn't stick with it and keep my ratings elsewhere. So this is the top 10 of the 54 beers I rated/reviewed here and not the top 10 of the ~450 odd different beers I've tried.

LIke many of you here, there are a few beers that if I re-rated would certainly be lower, but here it is:

    1. Heady Topper
    2. Pliny the Elder
    3. Sip of Sunshine
    4. Parabola
    5. The Pupil- Societe
    6. 2x4- Melvin
    7. Galaxy Dry Hopped Fort Point Pale Ale
    8. Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
    9. Parabajava
    10. West 12

I would say that Sip of Sunshine, Pliny and 2x4 would drop out of my top 10, at least, if I were to rerate them. All are great beers, but maybe not top 10 for my taste. Probably replacing them would be Double Citra from Hill Farmstead, Vietnamese Speedway Stout, and maybe Double Orange Starfish from Aslin (when it's at it's best- some inconsistency on this one).
