Yes, the one thousandth one hundred and eleventyth WBAYDN!!1111!

 

In honor of Stout Day -- Tallgrass Brewing's Big RICC -- 10.5% RIS brewed with coffee and chocolate.

The first one went down really easy so I think another is in order. I missed the memo about stout day, I'll take care of that later I guess.

Jet lag caught up to both of us - awake until 4am, and just now starting the day; poor Mrs. Zombies still out cold.

To get me moving in the right direction, Anderson Valley's "Bourbon Barrel Stout", 6.9% and aged in Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrels.



I got this bottle at the brewery in Booneville, CA, in May, and enjoyed a couple during that trip. The whiskey nose is now a whisper, and any bourbon has faded to oaky vanilla and bittersweet chocolate notes. Mouth has a dry, lite wooden feel. Still a flavorful stout, but I should probably drink remaining bottles sooner than later. Cheers!

I applaud your sauce choice sir! Hauled multiple bottles west along with some beer ( all gone ) in August. I guess I will work on a clone when it is all gone

What does one do when it's a beautiful 70 degree November day off in Chicagoland? Hang those outdoor Chirstmas lights while the hanging is good! Checking them out as I takie a breakie, so to say. My "beer nook" could use a little color anyway. Oh, sure, I know it's stout day, but it wouldn't be the holidays without this one.

Hops from the fridge on another warm and windy day. The trees are pretty much bare now and this may be the final primo day on the patio for a while. My fingers are crossed that the El Niño talk will produce some milder weather this winter.

This is still tasting really good two weeks after purchasing. I'm giving the nod to Victory for the top packaged wet hop ale that I consumed this season. My overall favorite was Super Damp on tap at Comrade when I was in Denver. That beer was on another level.
