My brother's boys are going to Ithaca College- I'll have to ask if they've explored those areas. Thanks!

Also currently locked in a great mental battle between Undertale and Metal Gear Solid V for my favorite game of the year. Why yes, I do need a life, thank you very much.

This may be my favorite Genesis studio album. Duke is under appreciated.

Nice! The picture in my post is from Cascadilla Falls. It goes from downtown up to Cornell's campus and is one of my favorite walks. I also enjoy Taughannock Falls, but it's a few minutes drive out of town. Whenever we have visitors we do a little waterfall tour and hit up Taughannock, Buttermilk, Treman, Ithaca Falls and Cascadilla.

    Cheers!

Definitely! I always think of it this time of year because of the song Heathaze, so had it on the brain tonight.

    Another New Brew, very nice.

    Molotov Lite 8.5% IPA
    Raja 8% DIPA

I would buy the Raja again any day over the Molotov Lite. The Raja is on the lower side of a DIPA, but is a DIPA, where as the Molotov Lite is higher ABV and considered an IPA, it does not even come close to a DIPA to me, considering if the ABV comes into play. Funny shit!

My first time trying a Modern Times beer. I really like this one; it's a very refreshing brew. Nice hop flavor and aroma, and at 5% ABV, I imagine this would be a fantastic summer beer. A lot of citrus flavors- With the addition of wheat, along with the aforementioned ABV, this goes down very easy. I have Blazing World in the fridge, so I'll have the opportunity to check that out whenever I'm in the mood for it  Cheers!

Sam Adams White Christmas. I love this stuff. Nicely spiced with an subtle orange flavor. I was happy to see it in 6 packs this year. I even like the festive red and white bottles. Now if we can just get Old Fezziwig in 6 packs!

I started today's drinking with Ninja Vs. Unicorn - a beer I have yet to pass up when spotted...
The fact that I can never buy more than 1 or 2 at a time makes me want it all the more... :flushed:

Super-exclusive DIPA action featuring both ninja and unicorn-themed elements!

So, I drank that and was about to post it with this...
...when I realized I needed a book photobomb, but I wasn't even thinking about anything literary at all! *blank*

*this is not intended suspense-building music - it's just what I was listening to*

--> that noted, if it in any way contributed to a sense of suspense, then...

Well, well, well, look what came in the mail today...
My official guide book for Fallout 4 - Vault Dweller's Survival Guide :grimacing: *timing*

Yeah, that's right, I'm not just a geek for beer... :grinning:

The Fallout series of CRPGs was an instant win with me...

Fallout 1 and 2 ('97 & '98 releases I discovered in the early-to-mid 2000's) had great stories and were a lot of addictive fun to play - they look dated now, and they didn't look much better then :stuck_out_tongue: lol
    [IMG]
BUT... they had a level of immersion and story-telling I'd enjoyed in Planescape: Torment...

    ...a classic D&D CRPG from 1999...
...known for it's story-telling and immersion... *you saw that coming* :stuck_out_tongue:

Screenshot (*not mine - so far I'm just trying to survive*) from Fallout 4... :sunglasses:

Hey, how about those football games Sunday and last night? Holy crap did that fuck up a nation's-worth of football picks or what? The only people who did well in the football pool at work were these two clowns shooting for the season's worst-record prize (yes, they reward total failure in this pool )... lol

Alright, that's all I got. Cheers...

Evening, BA's! Inspection at the group home today, and I've been busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. Time to unwind with a side-by-side tasting of barleywine-style ales: Adnams Tally-Ho Reserve (English) and Free State Old Backus (American), to wit:

Both very appealing in appearance, with the English-style offering quite a bit darker:

Both are very malt-forward. The aroma of the Tally-Ho is much more subdued and less fruity. The Old Backus is much sweeter on the palate, especially after it warms to near room temp. The character of the Tally-Ho brightens up quite a bit upon warming, but the finish is still quite bitter. Both finish dry, no cloying sweetness. Conclusions:
    1) Much prefer the Old Backus. This American-style barleywine has much more going on in terms of complexity, both in aroma and flavor. Having said that, Tally-Ho is a solid offering that I would not hesitate to drink again.
    2) If you're still reading this drivel, you're drunker than I am.

    Cheers!

I'm one for repeated abuse - OB Death by Coconut. I now officially like it... and my wife really likes it. Like a fizzy almond joy with less sweetness. May have to get another 4 pack for the long Thanksgiving week while family is in town...

One more CAT scan tomorrow and then she gets to move on to rehab; closer to home!!:grinning::grinning::grinning:

As promised, a book with a 20131218 FIS, and some Cabot extra sharp cheddar, Citterio Genoa salame & prosciutto roses with roasted butternut squash, combined with an interesting cookbook.

It's all in this one, from porcino, polpo to calamare! Nice read for ideas while sipping and munching.
