Alpine Pure Hoppiness. Upon first sip I wasn't really feeling this. However, the more I'm drinking this I'm enjoying it.

enjoyed a Great Lakes Blackout Stout followed by a Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin before dinner.

had Ballast Point Grunion and Kane Head High on draft at dinner with a great meal. my local pub had those two beers plus Anchor Christmas, Stone Enjoy By, Troegs Mad Elf and a few other things. was pretty happy about that.

    anyway:

    Barrel Aged Framinghammer

Probably my fourth or fifth favorite beer from Jack's Abbey; their Smoked Lagers (Smoke and Dagger and Fire in the Ham) and Widow Maker Lager Wine are just too good. Coffee BA Framinghammer edges this out by a little bit too

I have been absolutely dying to try that but can never find it less than a year old ...a shame there isn't more people not afraid to admit they like pilsners. One of the hardest styles to perfect IMHO

Sweet new Tekus from Sixpoint came in today. Time to enjoy some Global Warmer. IMO I find this similar to Celebration, maybe even better :grimacing:

Storm King, one of the original Hoppy "Stouts"

Hops are fading but not that fast. Deep Spicy hops with a Resinous vibe. Mild Lemon Zest in the aftertaste. Roasted Malts are enjoyable but finishes too Dry and Bitter so it lacks that "Stout" punch. I'll still drink it at 9.1 ABV...because I'm a fan of what gets me there faster.

    Musical Selection:

I loved Spectrum of Death. This isn't a bad Album, just why so long for it's Mass Release. It is a breath of fresh Air. It takes me back to the Early days of Death/Thrash Metal. This group had so much potential to rule the Genre. I guess in a way, they do.

Well the missus got home and it was leftover diving for dinner. Planning our final foray into the shopping jungle tomorrow. At least that is the plan...we might both blow it off, do gift cards for all, spend the day in the hot tub...

So dinner accompanied by Founders Rubaeus for the missus and Allagash Hugh Malone for me. Both, ironically, roughly the same age. I think Rubaeus holds up remarkeably well for a beer with fruit and my sip confirmed it still has great raspberry flavor that is maybe a bit more tea like. The Hugh Malone...well, it has certainly dropped off just a bit, but light years from being a drain pour. It has lost a little of the floral notes, complexity, and the fresh hop flavors at six months, but still a very good drinking beer.

Sittin in our jammies watching the Celtics.

It's better, I thought the same thing a few years ago when I had it on tap.
