We took it easy and watched Inglorious Basterds last night, my wife's first time (double ), but that led to an aggressive New Year's Day! First, we went to Links in Chicago. Had a Dustihl Cerise Stout Impériale for her and a Bourbon County 2013 Barleywine for me. We may have ended up with 2-3 of the BCBW each before we left! Well worth it. Then a Nebraska Barrel Aged HopAnomaly (belgian IPA aged in Chardonnary barrels) And lastly, an Alesmith Speedway Stout. Although, yes, I did have another BCBW before leaving. Now at home, I'm currently indulging in this... Why not?! I had some doubts on this one, but am thoroughly impressed. Deep, dark black pour with a quickly dissipating brown head. The aroma is blueberry and bourbon. On taste, I get blueberry and dark malts first, with the blueberry and bourbon barrel lingering. Well done Rev! And finally, Happy New Year BAs!
