I love that glass- simple, elegant, directs the aroma, and I bet it feels great in the hand. I really must get one.

A Great River Redband Stout from way back in the fridge. Tasty, but preserving my DIPA-loving tastebuds for the Michigan Winter Beer Festival tomorrow! Need to have my wits about me to build my pretzlaces before bedtime.

I got this in a sample pack off amazon, 20$ for 5 or six glasses. I dig it, cheap but effective.

A lot of people here enjoying Hopslam tonight. So am I, only mine is a bottle that I have been aging for about 4 years now. I don't typically put this style of beer in my cellar and can't remember why I did so with this particular bottle of Hopslam, but damn this is pretty good! Really smooth and mellow, the honey and caramel malt sweetness are right upfront with a nice pine hop flavor on the back end. The hop flavor is there, but the massive bitterness found in this beer when had fresh is gone. Really liking this!

Glad to see this post. Haven't posted to a LNBA post in a LOOOOOONG time.

Got off work early today and went up to Alpine to have a glass of Expo Hoppy. Good timing too because they shut down early due to a water main break in Alpine that I saw on my way out of town. Probably shut down the whole town.

Later after a movie with the wife, I'm planning to drink some some from Almanac, or maybe I'll jump to the bourbon. We'll see.

    Cheers BAs!

Giovanni is getting to me- I've taken one step closer to starting on Italian beers-
    [IMG]

Getting a little historical first. The wine glass seemed appropriate because, you know, Tuscany and all that...

This one is definitely interesting- the flavors blend well enough and it's on the borderline of what I'd pay for another one. At least i know what Myrhh tastes like, too- so it's got that going for it. I'm at the end now and it certainly is growing on me- nice to step outside the box every now and then.

Next time I'll get the Baladin Nora for sure, though.

Started with some Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve. A bit too spicy for me tonight so I just cracked open a SN Bigfoot. Probably have a Founders Porter later.

I didn't even look at the date code on the bottle when I bought it and I should have. It looks like it's from over 6 months ago. Explains why it didn't quite meet my expectations.

Yeah, it's a damn good beer, but it's a huge hop bomb and therefore very reliant on the hops. Make sure you pick some up when it's released next year, fresh, and you'll like it much more
