I was skimming through the posts pretty quickly and noticed your avatar of Tom Selleck in Mr. Baseball. I chuckled, went back to have a closer look, and noticed it was actually Wade Boggs. Good stuff.

starting with something new, a little light. Decent nose and it isn't overly zesty. Can't really say much more that's my review.

Good evening BA, happy Friday! Hope everyone had a good work week. Hoping to get my bike rack hitch finally installed this weekend. Today's reviews:

This is a pretty nice Berliner. Super pale straw colored; crystal clear appearance. Really good head retention and lacing for my expectation. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart lemon, lime, pear, green apple, wheat, cracker, hay, straw, herbal, grass, and light funk. Light-moderate fruity/acidic tartness; with a very smooth, crisp, clean, and dry finish; some solid acidity and slight graininess in the mouthfeel. Very refreshing, medium-high carb/light bodied. I found this to be pretty similar to Bells Oarsman for my opinion, but there was a bit more overall robustness in flavors. Well rounded in flavor profile for the style. 3.68
    [IMG]

Very nice Witbier! Aromas and flavors of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, and light banana/bubblegum; moderate wheat/bready malts; with herbal/grassy spice and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate yeast spiciness and hop/citrus peel bitterness; medium bodied with moderate wheat creaminess and some spice spiciness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying from the spice/bitter notes as well. This is really spot on for a Witbier. Yeast feels damn near identical to what Bells uses in Winter White. Main thing I was afraid of was citrus peel astringency, and thankfully there was pretty much none of that at all. Really delicious stuff! Will grab some more singles of this. 3.9
    [IMG]

Very good Session IPA. Fantastic head retention, and lacing. Aromas and flavors of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hop; with some light honey/bready malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; with a sticky/resin and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel. Light-medium bodied, zero lingering hop astringency. Nice all around hop vibrancy, without feeling watery on flavors. This has lactose in it to help boost the body, but I still feel Munich malt is the best way to go for this "style". Wouldn't mind picking it up again, but I will probably stick with the old reliable SIPA - Simcoe Sensation. Pretty unique hop profile on this though. 3.81
    [IMG]

Outstanding RIS! Awesome head retention, and dense lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, bourbon, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, coconut, toasted oak, and light smoke/char; with slight raisin/plum fruits that come out more through the glass. Moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; medium-full bodied with balanced creamy and sticky/chalky roasted character in the mouthfeel. Some light-moderate dryness due to spicy oak and bitter char characteristics. Fairly warming finish; with a bit of booziness. This is straight up massive on the barrel notes, but it is not overdone like some BBA beers I have had before. Really awesome balance. Warming, but smooth sipping finish. 4.23

Great pairing with that beer and certainly the best steak I ever had that I cooked myself. The butcher had it labeled "28-day dry aged Prime NY Strip" for $20.99/lb., that little guy was just shy of 0.8 lb. for ~$16....worth every penny. The local steak house is $28 for a baseball sirloin (generous portion of top butt), over $30 for a nice 14 oz. strip and $36 for 8-10 oz. filet and $44 for a 16 oz. filet. I'll take my strip steak and some grilling all day long at those prices.

Moving on to....something that I never had. Aging a few for the next few years, as directed.

    Cheers BA!

On Fleek! Good shit. The 13% ABV is clutch and saves me the regret of paying $14/4pack.
Probably the thickest, chewie-est beer I've had. Wow. I dig.
