    Hey again, BA's! After 12 here in really warm NOVA & I just got back from lunch at the Red Apron, had a pretty good VA Pils & a really good sort-of-Reuben. No pics of that, but I'm now onto this:

    Happy Tuesday BA's! Just awoke from the 12 hour rest after sharing a few bottles with a couple friends down at Überbrew last night. The Hawaiian Speedway blew me away but the Darkest Hour was from '14 and flat and brett infected. Not terrible but wasn't expecting sour cherries when I brought it down. Both were extras in trades and my contribution.

    Having a ridiculously incredible dark sour from the amazing Italian Black Barrels Brewing (Birrificio Black Barrell) called Vedova Nera, which translates to Black Widow...

    The roastiness of the grains melds seemlessly with the complexities of the oak wine barrels, Brett and Lacto it was aged on. If you're ever in Italy, and like great sours, you definitely want to try as many beers from this brewery as possible!

    Leffe Rituel 9°. I'm not a huge fan of the typical Leffe taste, but always like to try their specials. With 9% this one is the most alcoholic in the Leffe spectrum. Goes well with smoke foods like smoked salmon, meats or cheeses.

    No smoked food here yet, but I'm firing up the Green Egg (mini) now, so this is beer is a great combination already. Uch, uch :slight_smile:

    Time to Enjoy after tying some hop bines. This is the earliest date I've seen cones! They must be happy with the hot dry weather? This beer never ceases to amaze me with it's consistent quality and at times different flavor profile. I look forward to every batch.
