Happy sunny Saturday, BAs! Gorgeous day here. Been battling back after foot surgery with the running. Back up to 5 miles, not a biggie for you marathoners, but I'm pleased to have gotten this far! Treating myself with a little post-run shower beer--Half Acre Vallejo. Cheers!

Scrap the miles and go for speed! After knee surgery unrelated to running, that's my philosophy. As a ex marathoner and current 5k specialist, I'd rather concentrate on and win my age group than just log more miles. Cheers to your recovery!

 

Finest kind ipa. A decently balanced ipa that isn't quite what it may have been 10 years ago,

 

I discovered this 2014 bottle of Warlock where there shouldn't have been one. So I grabbed it and made an early retreat to the WulverDen.

I wasn't sure if I should risk boring everyone this afternoon at the BA virtual bar with this Memory Lane story, but it cracked me up as I remembered...

So cue wavy screen as we travel back in time to the mid 1970's and I tell you...

...that this beer's taste reminds me of a warm, flat, watery Coke or Pepsi I drank due to intense thirst after waking up savagely hungover on a Sunday morning. I was in a hot and stuffy basement that was littered with bottles, cans, pizza boxes, clothing, stains, unmentionable debris, a gross stench of sweat and a diverse array of unconscious bodies. God almighty I was soooo thirsty!!!

After guzzling the cola from a lipstick stained and chewed styrofoam cup, I felt...things...in my mouth...that didn't all go down with the cola. Yes, they were cigarette butts.

I've since learned the importance of hydration before passing out.

This Warlock has those same notes of sweet-smoky-ashtray.
Ahh, the horrible memories. I'm not sure I'll finish this.
