Stopped by On Rotation for a cheap clean slate Wednesday growler fill and got the last of the Prairie Ape Snake free, ended up with Four Corners/Noble Rey Noble Cock
Dogfish Head Bière de Provence
Carton Boat you taste so goooood...
Yes, @goingbrokeonbeer killed my dream last night too. My plan (in MY mind) was to have a couple cute farm girl assistants do the chicken work and I was going to sit under a shade tree and drink Farmhouse Ales. I explained this to my wife and she just couldn't see it. No imagination.
Well, when you put it that way, it sounds entirely feasible. I like how you think!
Next up Rising Tide Zephyr while I cook dinner, can't taste any hops unfortunately after that 12th of never ale.
Finishing off my last bottle of Tropical Thunder from the Devil's Backbone variety pack. This one was... not as good as I'd been hoping, unfortunately. Weird harsh bitterness and this almost-sour funky thing at the end, and very little pineapple (though it was present in the smell -- at the very least this beer definitely smelled very nice!)
I noticed after writing my review that another reviewer wondered if this might have been infected. Comparing what I tasted in the two variety-pack bottles with what this beer was like when I had it on tap at the brewery back in January, I have to wonder if they may be right. I mean, where else would a sour-ish harsh funky thing be coming from in what was supposed to be a sweet, fruity, slightly-hoppy yeasty wheat beer?
Happy Wednesday folks! Today was the distro release for the 2016 Cigar City Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, so naturally, had to crack one. Cheers!
//no really, it is. The beer is just super dark
digging this beer
Fat Funk Ale, a New Belgium/Allagash collaboration beer from the Fat Friends pack (quite tasty too)
Gave this a go as a single- 1.99/can. Not bad.
The writing on that glass is about as easy as seeing a bottling date on a Lagunitas bottle.
Managed to solve quite a few problems at work today despite my drafting software crashing over a dozen times (half a dozen within the first hour of work). Unfortunately, it's nearly triple digits outside, so no photos of my victory beer from the screened-in porch. Continuing the hop tour with Schlafly serving as the guide.
Stone Enjoy After 7/4/16
Cooking, listening to music, staying with the wheat beers. May like the Boulevard better.
These guys may do my favorite version of this song. If you've ever heard of the Lennon sisters, some of the members of this band are their brothers. Lucky enough to see them when I lived in California.
Just got home from my mom's pool, so I guess I'll start pre-gaming for the Chelsea v AC Milan match. I probably should have poured this into a Duvel glass. I didn't realize it is allegedly almost 9% ABV. Yikes.
G' evening BA's!! Hump Day! Can't wait for this week to be over!!
This is helping a lot!
Gotta watch last night's Animal Kingdom and Feed The Beast episodes! 2 of my favorite shows on TV right now, imo.
Just gonna leave this here for right now...
Happy Hump Day, BA's!
Thanks! It's always feasible, but everybody has to do there part to make it work and this is when I have problems.
Dinner is served, brats with spicy mustard and sauerkraut. Beer may not be a typical match... but I like it.
Back from Tired Hands, so time to up the ante. My roommate just got back from a trip to Montreal, and muled me this. Happy day!
Just cracked one. Have not had this in years! It's as good as I remember it.
Shower beer after a good lift
I'm going to go out on a limb... no I'm not. I'm just going to say it: This is my favorite MBC beer- that includes Lunch. Bottled 7/26 this is outrageously delicious. Waves of tangerine/orange and grapefruit and pineapple entice on the nose- and the flavor just follows up. Nice n easy drinking body too. 5.5% lusciousness
So fucking beautiful outside right now. I'm not missing Tucson anymore (It's been hot as balls here the past few weeks, now it's 78° and almost no humidity)!! Time for a couple nice beers and a good book (I'm working my way through ASOIAF series aka game of thrones to all you non-nerds)
What a perfect lager. This might be the first US brewed, German-style lager that I'd put up against anything from the Fatherland. Wish I could buy 300 cases.
This is my first time trying a Hop Concept beer and I'm really happy with it. Excellent stuff, not surprised because these are two of my favorite hop varietals. Lots of fruit, more bitterness comes out when you pour in the sediment at the bottom. Hope to see more from these guys in NJ. Went well with the book.
Old school cover, I know I know....whatever. Also please no stupid HBO spoilers I would rather read the book whenever it comes out
Happy hump day ba. Last bottle of this. Honestly, it doesn't really seem to have fallen off that much at all. A pretty good stout regardless,
Prairie Paradise Stout- aged on vanilla and coconut.... Cheers!
Extra bonus- buy a snifter, get a snifter to go!
Having this with crabs. We will see how it goes
It's grilling time again. Tonight is something simpler: slow-cooker BBQ chicken that gets slapped on the grill for a crisp-up, with onion and peppers in foil, zucchini on top.
Seemed appropriate to tap my last Neptune.
I mean, look at the ingredients and tell me it doesn't scream "Serve with smoke and fire and meat!"
Na zdrowie, BAs!
These guys know how to make Saisons. Another winner.
Lagunitas Stoopid Wit... Pretty good
Enjoying a Great Lakes Sharpshooter Session Wheat IPA.
Grimm Brothers Brewhouse Water of Life DIPA
Trying this for the first time tonight.
