Thanks. My drinking buddy and probably my best friend is a diehard Vikings fan. Even went to their training camp. So I cannot gloat.

Feeling good though. Just might have another beer to celebrate.

CHEERS, dammit. (Is fat-fingeredness a handicap? Maybe I could qualify for a free gub'mint tablet or something.)

Finishing the night off with some Dinner. There are times of beer wealth and times of beer poverty, I'll be in the beer wealth category for the next week or so, then it's back to the old stand by's.

Honey, pine, citrus and overripe tropical fruit along with a slick malt backbone...this is not only a great representation of the style, but the balance of hops and malt is executed very well. Very happy to have scored a fresh batch!

Double dry hopped Other Half All Citra Everything. Wow. The spicy Citra dankness is fucking superb. A pleasure to drink this.

Another 90 minutes in the book, another 8-game season in the books. We finish with a 4-game unbeaten streak (3w, 1d). A 3-3 draw is how we ended it. I had a goal and an assist today, I put a leftie in from about 25 yards out (not to brag, lol). Great workout at midfield, though, I'm done. Cheers all.

    NBS X-Post!

I had an extended weekend with Veterans day which was nice. Not much going on here otherwise, got some more new beers this weekend and did my 4800th beer last week.

    New Beers:

This was really delicious. December 2013 dated. No head or lacing. Aromas and flavors of big wood/peat smoke, salt, bacon, leather, caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toffee, toasted brown bread, and light coffee/nutty malts; with some light dark fruit and herbal/peppery hops. Light herbal/roast/smokey bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; very creamy and a bit slick/silky in the mouthfeel. Light sticky/chalky roast, and a bit of roasted dryness. Zero warming ABV. This is really easy drinking, despite the minimal carbonation. Very intensely smokey and peaty, but has a nice complex malt backbone. Was expecting it to be a bit more roasty when I read it was a stout; but perhaps that would clash too much with the huge level of smoke in this one. Overall this was pretty great. 3.97
    [IMG]

This was great stuff! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, and lightly toasted bread malt; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced sticky/resins and malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. A touch slick. Intense increasing resin dryness, but no lingering hop astringency at all! Minimal warming ABV for 9%. Wow, big fan of this one. Canned 2.5 weeks ago. Hops are super vibrant and pretty juicy. Nice malt backbone, but not too sweet. Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, and Cascade hops. I love the C hops any day of the week. Simcoe adds a nice underlying tropical vibe to a very intense citrus/piney hop flavor party. 4
    [IMG]

Excellent Brett wild ale! Aromas and flavors of tart lemon, lime, orange zest, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, papaya, white grape, oak, white pepper, hay, floral, and light leathery funk; with some moderate wheat/crackery malts. Touch of coconut and vanilla from the barrels. Nice moderately tart finish with some brett/tannic oak spice. Medium bodied; balanced acidity and grainy malts in the mouthfeel. Lightly tannic. Crisp and moderately dry finish. Not as sour as I was expecting(standpoint of the Central Coast Saison), but it is pleasantly tart and extremely refreshing! Great Brett complexity all around. Very vibrant. 4.1

    Cheers!

Had a few champagnes, then a number of beers at Veil brewing, and then a number of beers at daughters house. Love bourbon and now on the menu.

Posting a pic but my wife asked that I do not post anything else. For some reason, I must embarrass her.

Last time I watched a football game from start to finish? I don't know, but it's practically never. However, that Cowboys/Steelers game had me glued the whole way!

Drinking a Merlin that has nearly a year on it...its held up well considering how thin it is, but very respectable.

    Cheers!
