Settling in for the 2nd half of the IU / UNC game with a little Ohio lovin' (stuff from our Thanksgiving trip to the Midwest). I love this beer, wish we had access to it back here in PA! :slight_frown:

Modern Times Blam! Blam! The first of their special-release cans that I really love.

I confess I'm more into this new album than I probably should be . . . not quite on the level of Daft Punk on their own, but close:

In Austin, TX, a couple of Texas beers. First, Austin Beerworks Peacemaker, a decent APA.

Next, Hops & Grain Brewery The One They Call Zoe, a very nice APL. I'm gonna watch IU beat UNC, then I'm gonna sack out - I'm beat.

Hey BAs! As of today, we are officially north siders!

Closed on our new house (and old condo) today, so exhausted, but very excited for the future. With all of this work behind us, I should finally be around a bit more often again going forward.

Picked up dinner from L'Patron, a great local taqueria. @joe1510 will be pleased to know that they've brought the elotes back. Excellent. Paired with Revolution Fistmas.

And finally, a celebratory beer. Stickee Monkee, my wife's favorite.

    Cheers everybody!

Congratulations! It will be good to relax in the new crib, I'm sure.

That is a nice front door that you have!

That elotes. It's the most decadent version I have ever had. Their fish tacos are up there in quality too.

Breaking into the Milkshake stout pack. Excellent stuff yet again! Flavors of big blueberry, maple syrup, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, caramel, toffee, toasted brown bread, and light herbal hops. Light herbal/roast bitterness, slight blueberry tartness. Medium bodied; nice fairly creamy/silky mouthfeel, a bit of roast malt chalkiness. Lightly drying. Really nice malt complexity and well balanced with the blueberry/lactose/cocoa nib flavors. Very flavorful for the 5.2% ABV. I probably will buy another whole 12 pack for myself again, depending how I feel about the other 9 I didn't review yet. I bought a ton of the Marshmallow, Cheesecake, and this one when they did the 4 packs earlier in the year.

Awesome DIPA. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; some honey and lightly toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Large sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness; very crisp/sticky/resinous mouthfeel with some grainy/creamy malt balance. Medium bodied. Moderate increasing resinous dryness, with little/no hop astringency. Love it! You get an awesome range of balanced hop character. The juicy tropical/citrus of Citra/Amarillo to the spicy/piney/resinous of the Chinook. Very bright on the hop flavors.

Incredible again this year. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread. Light roast/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly drying. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Just grabbed the last 6 pack from one of my local stores this evening. Still have a couple left from the last pack, but I didn't want to pass it up. There were a couple more shipments going around this month, so there is likely more out there though.

Good evening, LNBA's! It's 34 degrees and drizzly here in the Cedar Valley, and freezing rain isn't out of the question. So, naturally, I'm drinking a summer beer: Lips of Faith - Flowering Citrus Ale, from New Belgium and De Koninck. I picked this up in the Black Friday sale at HyVee. My rating for this is off the charts, in part because of the solid 5 on appearance. Crystal clear deep yellow, long-lasting fluffy white head that leaves lots of nice ladder lacing. Aromas and flavors of Belgian yeast, orange, lemon, and rose petals. Really begins to open up at cellar temperature. Light, clean finish, with a touch of citrus-zest bitterness. Paired nicely with aged Gouda (Reypenaer and Beemster) and pita chips, and a perfect companion to this 25-cent thrift store goblet I found this afternoon.
