Very interesting gose from Rising Tide. Low on the tart scale, some lemon and tea flavors, nicely low salt and carb., really refreshing. Thanks to @LeRose for this one, perfect for pretending it isn't cold and snowing outside. Cheers!

A Ukrainian beer from my Bier Advent Calendar

Went flat quickly, mouthfeel lacked substance & a bitter finish - opened with much promise but in the end, delivered disappointment. :slight_frown:

Good morning, BAs! Fighting off a nasty cold with my typical plan: kill it with hops!

It may not really work, but at some point, I stop caring that I'm sick. :grinning:

    Cheers!

Drinking Captain's Daughter... features Mosaic and Citra hops; 8.5% abv; 12/14 canning... the trifecta of hops, strength, and freshness! :grinning:

    Cheers...

-trying my Christmas gift cozy on the 5 Beans. A MN brew would be more appropriate, but alas, no Surly in my area yet.

Back on the grid after some phone issues late yesterday. The Bastard is really in a sweet spot now after a few months! Time to park it in the easy chair for a spell. The mall scenes on the news this week made me think of this video that I haven't seen in quite some time. Cheers gang!

Ah, lunchtime. One of the advantages of retirement is you can take time to enjoy lunch cause you don't hafta be anywhere so I'm having a beer.

    Score 3.9
    appearance: 3.75 | aroma: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Deep garnet red color like Autumn Maple leaves, good cap and lacing.

Aroma is mild sweet malt with little hop support. I don't get so much maple, or even the middle/heavier sweetness that description implies, but I do get some, and a bit of vanilla.

Taste is richer than the aroma and more intense. Caramel malt forward building more mid palate with a small amount of hop bite in the background. Fairly well rounded applying the brakes just before the junction at sweetness crossroads. For me there's also some roasted malt nuttiness that politely stays in it's place.

Truth in advertising here, this beer looks, smells and tastes just like it's described by the brewer. A fairly complex, almost ambitious effort, yet still made with restraint. Lots to applaud, little to criticize, a happy coincidence that I wouldn't have tried had it not come in the Fall variety pack.

Good morning, and Happy Thursday BA's! Forgive my recent lack of participation. Post Christmas is usually a bit rough for the Staff both physically and emotionally, this year especially so after losing my first love, The Princess :slight_frown:. I think we can all agree to a better future in 2017...hopefully. Anyhoo, the Grand Finale of the Holiday Glass of the Week Awards commences this Saturday, so get those remaining festivities out of your systems, friends, and apologies ahead of time to @dcotom as his honoring the remaining of the 12 Days of Christmas will not be highlighted, but definitely will be enjoyed . It's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:
I can't believe this wonderful Guinness Tankard finally showed up on an actual day of GotD contention :grimacing:...! Cheers and congrats @Barracudas for the glass you acquired all those years ago from its place of origin.
2nd: Speaking of Guinness, how about another award for the first tall and slim Guinness Imperial Pint glass I've seen, courtesy of @5EKF .
3rd: And finally, to @BIGPOPPAS for this disease infected red chalice (looks contagious :stuck_out_tongue::grinning:).

Honorable Mention goes out to @JamFuel for this fine stemless wine / bowled gripper hybrid glass ! You'll know what I mean when you see it.
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!

    GotD.

Phase Two: Chocolate. It's got, like, antioxidants and stuff, and the New Age hipster holistic crowd swears they're amazing for you. Just, like, don't ask how; just listen to your body.

I have! Right now, MT's freshest (IPA) offering is City of the Sun if you find it in 4 packs. Accumulated Knowledge is out again as well, and both should be relatively easy to find. What did you think about Sleepless City? For me, it's just ok.

The perks of teaching...Christmas break :grinning: Having some 10% morning juice. Odd13 Brewing Codename: Holidayfan NE style triple IPA. Extremely juicy, but still a touch boozy. Not bad at all. Cheers!
